Review of chapter "Lost In Translation" from MirriamQWebster
Review:
I had this exact conversation with two friends from England. I think it even started the same way. You really wrote this very well and did an excellent job conveying the humor of the situation. Well done! Thanks for sharing.

Review of chapter "Lost In Translation" from Kneazles
Review:
Absolutely wonderful. I was lauging so hard tears started to stream down my face. I must say when I first came to the states, I made the same mistake Giles did with jelly and jello.

Great fic!! I am jealous of such a marvelous plot bunny. I always marveled at the fact that Giles’ Brit-ness was a running gag but rarely did they have misunderstandings based on words. Buffy’s ending line is beautiful!! An enjoyable read! ~Vesica

Oh, lovely. Perfect blend of humor and sweetness. A tender gesture on the part of a new watcher adjusting to things here stateside. Very enjoyable.

Review of chapter "Lost In Translation" from Norwegianne
Review:
;) A funny situation, that could be developed even further... *hint* I've always found it odd that the Scoobies never seemed to have a large problem talking with Giles... of course they ignored him most of the time.

Well-written, funny, and you've nailed the characterization of both Buffy and Giles so well.

Review of chapter "Lost In Translation" from Lucinda
Review:
lol...... jelly is jello, jam is jelly... a fag is not a cigarette... too funny. The bit about the drawing NOT to scale fit nicely with BtVS canon - Gaknar, anyone? and Giles bafflement about American references seems so... well, I would have thought exaggerated, except that I took a trip to London. After that, I'd say his bafflement works quite well.

*Giggle*. This was great. My brothers and I were just talking about the differences between America and England and it took me twenty minutes just to convince them that you guys drink your tea hot.
Loved it and the last line was the best. ;)

Oh, the joys of language! I really enjoyed this story. Reminds me of the fun a friend of mine had when she went to England (we're from the US west coast.) She had all sorts of confusion with "braces", "garters" and "suspenders" not to mention asking for "a ride" when she really wanted "a lift" home. =] Thanks for making me smile and remember. (If you need the translation for either of these examples, feel free to ask.)
