Review of chapter "The Justice Leaguer and a Meta" from lunalurker
Review:
This may be the first hero first contact situation I've seen that instead of being a cliche, or even awful, comedy of errors and miscommunications, but was instead well thought out. Maybe even over-thought, because Batman overdoes things like that. Happy endings for all, at least until Samantha or DarkVampWillow take over the world or somesuch. And so it goes. A very fun series. I know I don't give the best reviews for writing advice and all that, but you have my recommendations and my fandom. Thanks for writing! :)
Comments from author:
Batman does tend to overdo it. Witness his meeting with The White Knight. :-)
As for Gravitas!Sam, the Justice League has beaten beings WAY out of Sam's weight class. The Anti-Monitor comes to mind. (He destroyed most of the *universes* in the DC multiverse.) Gravity controllers aren't new. Graviton of the Marvel universe is a pretty good example of what they can do, and how they can be beaten. The real question is whether you can have a 'defeat implies friendship' superbattle in the DCU and get Sam as the new Justice Leaguer.
And as for DarkVampWillow, she's already screwed up. She's planning on facing *Harry* and putting him in thrall to be her little minion. Harry, who threw off an Imperio on his first try when he was only fourteen. She has no idea how badly this is going to go. I thought every serious HP fan would read the last paragraphs and go 'ooh, ohh, Harry is going to cream her!'
Maybe I think about this stuff too much. :-)

Review:
"Jamie vaguely noticed that it felt like everything was moving in slow motion. Her fights always felt like this." Bwahahahaha! And then Willow and Xander pull a Kirk on the fembots. OMG, this is one of the funnest endings ever. ^_^
Comments from author:
I could NOT resist the bit about the slow motion fight scenes that were so much a centerpiece of every episode of the two shows. And I hadn't planned the second half of the story, but my muse hit me one night with just how Xander could defeat an army of fembots.

Review:
"Giles, Rupert Giles." Squee! I can so see it! :) And such a rollicking adventure they had too, with all the Bond trimmings and sprinklings of "Black" Jack O'Neil and evil ancient aliens on top. Priceless. Your series continues to not disappoint. And still so much for me to catch up on. Yay!
Comments from author:
Thanks for reading. The "Giles. Rupert Giles" is the line that my muse hit me with in the first place, and that was why I started writing the series of vignettes. And I tried to put in a ton of Bond tropes, including all of Rupert's gadgets, which are all from actual Bond movies.

Review:
Finally went back to these...
hmm interesting...
the sam one is horrifying...
A friend of mine read some of these and won't read any more of your stuff :-(
The Bond one and the OSI one are good...
I can see why you "went there" with the other stories... but...
...you may want to put some warning up, indicating that ppl who like happy endings may want to look elsewhere :-)
Or to encourage more ppl to start reading the The Secret Return of Alex Mack... you may want to KILL THIS STORY WITH FIRE... sorry where was I...
Did I say I was a little upset about that Sam story? ;-)
Comments from author:
I love Sam, but you know the rules for the DC universe. Once I started writing the story, the characters took over, and not-Sam went off the deep end before I could stop her.
And it's a trope. The other scientists laughed at her when she was right. That only ends one way. (Two ways, if you include Daniel Jackson.)

Review:
I liked the Batman and Alex chapter, it was cute and sweet. It was a very nice story about a day in the life of Bats... I mean being able to go out and meet some of the people before they crash and burn or ... get into trouble. And the junkyard bit was a good idea for a meeting place.
Comments from author:
And it's a lead-in to "The Secret Return of Alex Mack" even if Alex takes a lot of chapters to find even the first analog of one of her teammates. Granted, she doesn't have the resources of the Scoobies or the SGC or the OSI or the JLA or the British Ministry of Magic...

Review:
Sgc and the Brit.... I liked the story arc. It was delightful and amusing to see Giles as a spy. thanks for writing it.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I didn't plan on a sequel to chapter 1, but my muse had an idea of James Bond gadgets plus Stargate weirdness, and it exploded from one little vignette to a seven chapter story. And every gadget Giles uses is a real gadget from one or more of the movies. Even the belt with the piton and the cable.

Review of chapter "Hermione and a Resignee" from MistofRainbows
Review:
I find myself disappointed with the crappy Buffy style vampire type that Willow ends up as. Harry Potter doesn't mention that vampires are a problem... more like blood sucking people that still have souls. So the two bit vampires...
As for the last story in the series I guess the loose loose part of things makes sense for the spell... Interesting way to wrap things up if a touch brutal for Hermione.
It's interesting to see Buffy as an NID member... Carter as a crazy villain... I'm not sure how well that will work out... but I guess I'll see. Thanks for the chapters so far.
Comments from author:
Most of these chapters were completely experimental. Normally, I write with an entire outline at hand first (like chapter 1, where I had the ending in mind before I wrote the beginning and middle). Several of these I just let flow, and the characters took over. But in the DC Universe, scientists go mad and become immense threats that require the entire Justice League to stop, so that Carter was pretty much doomed. HP pretty much ignores vampires except the one we saw who is obviously ready to bite any student if given a chance, while his 'handler' seems to think he's safe.
There are only two of these that I continued. 'Buffy as NID' I mainly wrote so readers would say 'yes... yes... yes... YES!... oh no!' (because I'm evil). The possibilities from that one seemed pretty obvious, so my muse didn't want to bother.

Review:
A good chapter though I must agree with Batman he is not the best one to meet with a nervous young girl and her family for the first time meet. I am sorry it looks like the end for this story as it has been well done overall. Maybe we will see one of stories in this picked up and continued that could e good.
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked the series of vignettes. It's always possible one of these could become an extended story, but it's up to my muse, who is working on torturing me about other stuff now.

Review:
I really enjoyed the SG1/BtVS/007 cross. The idea of Ripper as an aging Bond was great. I was a bit miffed when the villain got the drop on our three musketeers so easily, but then I realized it IS canon for the two TV shows, so I got over it and enjoyed the "Indiana Jones" style adventure. Mad props for using a zat to take out a chopper (don't know if that's from the series; only seen a couple dozen episodes).
I did NOT like Hermione and a Resignee, 'cause it gave me the heebie jeebies. And just so you know, if you get vamped I will tell all the local and federal law enforcement I know, because you've put WAY too much thought into that evil mastermind plan.
I was dreading disappointment in "Bruce Wayne and a Daddy’s Girl," but was quite pleased with the surprise ending. Take that, Lex! Personally, I hope Buffy buries him, because otherwise you know he'll escape from prison in a stupid hot-air balloon.
Comments from author:
I hated the hot air balloon. Seriously hated it. But Lex and his sidekicks were supposed to be comic relief more than anything in that movie. Lex has done some really creative, really slick escapes from jail in the comic books while he was in the 'Lex as a known supervillain' era.
If 'Hermione and a Resignee' gave you the heebie jeebies, then my job is done. :-) Vamp Willow and Dark Willow were seriously dangerous threats. VampDark Willow? Eww.
As for the 'Giles, Rupert Giles' arc, it is required for 007 to be in a deathtrap from which he makes a brilliant, daring escape. At least one deathtrap per movie. I just came up with a reason not to just shoot him in the head, because Scott Evil really had the right idea on that point. And no one has ever used the electrical effects of a zat to take out a chopper in mid-air before, possibly because no one obsesses about the science of these things like I do. :-)

BatMan has a bit of a hero-crush on the original Alex, doesn't he? This chapter really complements what's going on in "Secret Return."
Comments from author:
Well, Alex is one superhero who has yet to do anything to tick off The Bat. :-)

Review:
Enjoyed all of the stories. Thank you for the good work.
Would be great if another team up happened - but perhaps not just with the original team up members :)
(Example: The White Knight having to team up with Alex ... or even a cross-dimension team up with WK + Willow?)
Comments from author:
Thanks. Unfortunately, we will both have to wait for my muse to give me another idea. That just doesn't happen every day.

Review:
Very nice End to this collection. And I very much like this Batman.
Only one negative in this Chapter: "if the real Alex Mack"... the real thing doesn't sit well with me, make the DC Alex Mack somewhat unreal.
Comments from author:
I tend to assume that every one of the character will assume that the person they first met - who in many cases they got to see in action, if they didn't actually get to know them - is the 'real' one.

Review:
Of all the intriguing chapters in this fic which were left with somewhat unresolved issues, I'd be most interested in seeing a continuation of the SG1/Scooby crossovers involving Buffy Summers the spy thinking the SGC is up to no good in the "Stargate: SG1" 'verse and/or both Jack O'Neill and Daniel Jackson being determined to report or take down the IWC in the Buffyverse. If I had to pick just one, I guess I'd most like to see Jack O'Neill brought 'round (hopefully!) to realizing the amount of good that he could do with the IWC.
For whatever my 'vote' is worth! :)
Comments from author:
The one I think has the most potential is actually Buffy in Batman's universe. The problem is that my muse doesn't care. I have roughly 42 possible plotlines branching out of that one scene, and my muse wants me to work on other stuff. Buffy the spy has about 8 possibly alternative plotlines, some of which make the Stargate universe go decidely AU in short order, while others stay on track but end very abruptly for poor Buffy. And Jack O'Neill in the Buffyverse could be fun, but it might just be the usual 'noob runs into Buffy's world, get overwhelmed, etc.' plot. Without my muse beating me into writing, none of these are likely to go anywhere (unless someone else asks me for permission to write their take on things).
And your vote is worth something, just like your reviews.

Wasn't expecting you to go here because it is mainly exposition, but nicely done to answer some questions.
Comments from author:
It wasn't on my original list, but as I was wrapping up, my muse Agatha insisted I write it. After all, the Alex Mack of season 1 TSWoAM is hardly ready for anything like fighting superbattles, even if she is ready to put her neck on the line to save people.
