The idea behind the story is very original. I like how instead of a council, basically all bureaucrats and politicians, its a knighthood, a group of experienced warriors training her and supporting her.

you know I would love to read about some interaction between Jack and Buffy. I also would love to read about how they would take care off Buffy when some evil took her from heaven.
love it

I like this story, even if Buffy is only in it for a moment in time, its a nice setup for a Slayer Support team. However I find myself wondering how they would deal with multiple slayers Faith in particular. She always got a bad rap in my opinion all she really needed was a little support and someone who believed in her. Anyway, enough rambling on my part, very good I will defiantly read it should you write more

Oh yes definitely continue this Please :) I love seeing Buffy actually have people in charge who CARE, the training/support is just a bonus. I always hated the Council's idea they "owned" the Slayer full stop and if she didn't tow the line.. oh well there'll be another one after we get rid of this one no matter how effective she is.
Anyway please more

PS Are you ever going to finish you're WIPs on your site? Or have you already? I haven't checked em in a long time.
Comments from author:
I've discontinued my personal site except for the Transformers stuff. So the chances of any long-ago WIPs being continued aren't good, sorry.

The council got corrupted over time because it built itself into a bureacracy. Whenever that happens power becomes the goal.
THIS alternative to the council clearly never became a bureacracy. HUGE difference.
And also I think since it STARTED with fellow warriors you never got REMFs that had any power. THAT was probably how the Council began to go bad.
And I disagree about the Council not being bad as portrayed. Take a look around at anything that has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years and tell me you do not see corruption- serious corruption.

My comment was about how the Council was shown in the TV series as opposed to how 99% of fanfic shows them. In the show they were mostly complacant bastards and spineless bureaucrats, but in most fanfic they're downright evil. But you're right, once organizations start turning into bureaucracies, that's when the trouble usually begins.

Oh please tell me you aren't ending it here! This begs to be continued on so many levels.
Doing this as a series of one shots sounds like an excellent idea in my opinion. Trying to rewrite the series episode by episode quickly gets boring for writer and reader alike, and you've pretty much tossed both series out the window already just by how you set this up. In fact I think you could probably turn this into a completely unrelated story to Buffy or Stargate if you wanted to simply by changing the names and reworking the slayer concept.
I'll definitely be reading any continuation you come up with if you decide to write more.

I actually briefly though about turning this into an original fic, but decided that there would simply be too many similarities to BtVS included for it to work, so it stays happy little fanfic.

This idea has a lot of potential. As other reviewers have said, this is pretty much how most of us picture a honest and good council being formed and maintained, only allowing fellow warriors to join, those who have themselves have felt like walking weapons at some point in their lives.
If you do not feel that you want to write the continuation, I would urge you to open the universe up for others to use. Maybe keep some of Buffys story for yourself, but let others expand what the rest of the Knights are doing when not directly supporting the current Chosen One.

I'll keep the opening-up thing in mind. For now I have two or three loose ideas on how this might continue. If I run out of steam, I'll invite others.
