Review of chapter "Epilogue – Hank and the Red Phone" from FireWolfe
Review:
I really really want to see a sequel to th is fic. I love to see Xander and Anise/Freya in a happily ever after. It might also be fun to have them deal with some of the SGC big bads or use some SGC tech on demons.
I honestly want to know more about Giles and his family as well working that in would be fun as well. I love to see Buffy and the gang meet Thor and company or maybe Loki. The little grey bugger has to be useful for something. Cloning for babies for the slayers sounds cool plus maybe they could save the asgard. I hated what the show did to the little grey demons.
Comments from author:
Thanks. And thanks for the review. (I love recommendations too, since I have a fragile ego. :D)

I left several sequel hooks in both of the stories, but my muse has decided to focus on entirely different stories lately. But I never know when I will suddenly get a smack in the back of the head with a spiked warclub, and inspiration (and bloodloss) will ensue! I wasn't going to write 'League of Extraordinary Women' but I saw the challenge and my muse went insane. I had a concept within seconds and a list of women in minutes and an outline before I went to bed that night. So at any moment, I might follow up on this series. But no guarantees. Right now my muse is forcing me to work on other stuff.

Review:
This was a great peek to the inner thinking of Anise/Freya, and really explains her so-alien attitude. And LOL, the only other person on Earth that might compare to Xander is Jack himself and she already blew THAT possibility.
Comments from author:
Yeah, she blew that possibility apart like Jonathan Levinson trying to ask out Cordelia Chase.

Review of chapter "Rona and the Eavesdropping" from Harmne
Review:
I love the new 'rules' about what can and can't be worn to a Council Halloween party - makes complete sense to me! (Snake Plisken was a great costume for Xander, too!) Rona embarrassing Andrew and Emily was a bonus and incredibly funny.
Comments from author:
Thanks. If I were a member of the Council, I would choose my Halloween costumes with *great* care.

No I wouldn't. I'd go as Squirrel Girl every year. She's cute. She's adorable. She can break the fourth wall so she'd know what was really going on. And she can take down ANYTHING. Literally anyone and anything. Who else in Marvel has singlehandedly beaten Dr. Doom or Thanos or Fin Fang Foom? Plus I could bring snacks in my utility belt and stay in character.

Review:
LOL, I googled the Philippine Islands just for the heck of it to see some of the island names that Buffy might be mangling - and OMG, there's a lot that would just mess with your brain! But one I saw was pretty close - Calibangbangan - and I could see how that would come out to be what Buffy said!
Comments from author:
I prefer to blame it on Slayer hearing or something. (As I did quite specifically in 'Xendra'.)

Review:
I enjoyed reading this the first time, the second time and now a third time. I laughed like a fool at Hanks call to the president; Again.
Comments from author:
And when the Prez gets snarky, you can't talk back. Well, I guess you can if you're Jack O'Neill...

I find this Willow to be an evil insane bitch. Doing that to anyone is unforgivable. Even if you think they asked for it.
Comments from author:
It does look pretty icky... unless someone happens to be into that kind of sexplay.

Review:
Wow, this series had me laughing so much! Really awesomely funny without falling into "wacky OOC antics" territory. All the characterization was great, and even made me like some of my more disliked characters a bit more. I loved loved loved the interactions with Andrew, Rona and Emily. I understand the demands of a stubborn muse, but if you ever write more in this series, I would be the happiest of campers.
Comments from author:
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the stories. I wouldn't mind a recommendation or two, so other people are more likely to find them.

I did leave half a dozen sequel hooks in there, some more obvious than others, but my muse is currently messing with other stuff.

I have no idea how anything I know could improve your writing. So all I can do is encourage you by telling you I love it and more is never enough.
Comments from author:
Thanks! More reviews and more recommendations are aways good, and hearing that people want to re-read my work is a good tonic.

Review:
Hey! Nothing wrong with star wars that wouldn't be fixed nicely by turning the second word into trek. LOL. My wife and I had our wedding reception in Quark's before they closed the star trek experience in Las Vegas. We rode the shuttle ride several times before it was closed. I remember it was about 15 minutes long by my watch but it seemed about 4 minutes long subjectively. Star ships battling it out right over Las Vegas while your shuttle tries to evade and land safely is amazingly exciting from inside the shuttle. Way better than any mundane roller coaster.
Comments from author:
Nothing wrong with Star Wars that wouldn't be fixed by getting to George Lucas about 1996 and convincing him that he can't write interpersonal relationships and he still needs serious editorial and studio oversight. Jar Jar Binks? Seriously?

Review:
I just reread this story, so want to say again how much I like it. Especially the format of a dozen different PoVs passing focus from one to another, but each chapter being a self-contained story that can be read or skipped separately. And I like how you give an idea of many characters' lives in a few chapters.

You mentioned four plot hooks in the other story's epilogue, so I guess those are: officer's daughter as a new Slayer; Slayers at Atlantis; Slayers protecting Stargate base; and Xander/Anise romance. The first two I'd really like to see continued, even if just for a couple chapters. (The reaction of people at Atlantis when a dozen Slayers show up should be quite amusing. :P) (And I like the humor in your stories in general, so this would be particularly good.)
Comments from author:
Thanks. I put all the plot hooks in there as possible future stories, but my muse is just not interested right now. Unfortunately for me, at any second she may change her mind and beat me with a club until I cooperate. She's like that.

Review:
So I was blazing through Alex's story when I managed to tear myself away, realizing I didn't have the time to read *all* of that again. I went to the topfics section to find something to distract myself with before my resolved faltered, and I noticed XaYAD was right next to TSRoAM in the ranking. Before I knew it I was almost done re-reading it all (again) and it was 3 a.m.

I ended up exhausted the next day, and this is ALL YOUR FAULT. I'm blaming you for making such entrancing stories filled with so much finely crafted details that they beg for multiple re-reads. The only way I could forgive you such a heinous crime would be to post the next Ayla chapters over at the Author's Corner (or any other place I can access).

That said, the Anise PoV chapter is probably my favorite. I really wasn't expecting to like this character but after seeing things from her side I can only cheer her on, and it makes the relationship with Xander so much more satisfying. It's one of the main reason I'd be happy if one day you used the hooks you've set up to write more so I can see how they get along together. (I know that it's all up to your muse, of course)
Comments from author:
Thanks. Still, that's only one of the hooks in there, so my muse might choose something *entirely* different to write on, even if she dove into that universe again.

Review:
This was the most delicious magical bondage scenario I've ever read. Kudos.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I wasn't planning anything nearly that naughty, but my muse let my characters take over, and the next thing I knew, it was 'Fifty Shades of Chocolate'. :-)

Just read these....
LOVE your work, and just thought you'd like to know that *g*
(And. ... hint hint, really looking forward to any sequels as well)
Comments from author:
I'm glad you liked it! I wouldn't mind a recommendation too, if it's that good.

As for a sequel, I have pitched five to my muse. So far, she has shot each of them down. With live ammo. :-) When she gets intrigued, a sequel will appear, even if she has to beat me to a pulp to get it. (It would not be the first time.)

Review:
Great set of side stories. These would have worked just as well if merged into a single long fic with the original IMO.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I hadn't even *thought* about writing these extra scenes until well after the first story was completed. Months after I finished the first story. But my muse is a fickle woman. fickle, and possessed of a right cross that Rocky Marciano would envy.

BTW, I love reviews. Thanks for reading and writing. If oyu want to drop me a recommendation or two, I'm good with that as well!

Review:
Both of these stories are well and truly great. I'd love sequels but as Diane says, when her muse tells her to write something that's what gets written. On the other hand, having read as much of her work as I can find, this level of story telling and writing is exactly what I expect to find. Absolutely superb! Like Larry Niven or Robert A. Heinlein's books, when I first found their stories, Diane's are something I would buy sight unseen if I ever found them in a bookstore.

Diane, if you have any other Nom de Plume's please tell me what they are so I can find your published works.
Thanks

PS: Love the Whately stories, where I first read her work.
Comments from author:
Thanks for reading and reviewing. And thanks for the rec on the second story! Not that I'd mind one on the first story too... :-)

Unfortunately, I have no nom de plumes. All my stuff is under Diane Castle, although sometimes my middle name (Lynn) or middle initial (L.) is there too.

And my Whateley stuff is my very first stuff on the web. I wrote some fanfic for Whateley and sent it to the canon cabal for review because I was making some guesses about their direction which might be spoilers. They read my story and offered me membership in the canon cabal. You could say that I was assimilated. :-)
