Why Minister Fudge Should Never Be in Charge

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from ColBlack
Great fun. I like you bringing in a couple of extra crossovers at the end - Henry Jones I'm presuming is from Indiana Jones and the is the ICW the International Council of Watchers from Buffyverse? Love to see how they would deal with this mess.

Hahaha the last time i laughed this hard while reading a fic was when i read one story in which Merin (from the BBC show) ordered the dragon to kiss the earth. literally.
Seriously, you should continue this, I'd love to see Fudge try and get out of this one :D

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Difdi
That was awesome.

Depending on how literally you interpret "of muggle origin" it could cause all kinds of problems. And those problems would keep happening to anyone who enters the Ministry until someone manages to bring down the wards.

Were the first humans universally magically-gifted or was the ability to wield magic a random mutation? If the latter, then ALL of humanity is of muggle origin, including the purebloods. On a more immediate level, a muggleborn's origin is from two muggles.

Then there's the word muggle itself. Does it mean non-magical human or simply non-magical, period? If the latter, then even wands made entirely by wizards from materials harvested entirely by wizards would be of non-magical origin unless the tree they came from was itself magical.

Do the personal beliefs and intent of the wizard casting the wards matter? Better hope he has an up-to-date dictionary!

What if someone would not have been born without the intervention (somehow) of a muggle? Can that person enter the Ministry with the new wards active?

Oh, so MANY lovely and horrific possibilities...

Ok dude, seriously thanks. I now know that they are finally continuing Halo. Booyeah. ^_^

Ironically Halo 2 was the only one of the main games I never finished. I did co-op marathons of both one and three with friends in the past.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Current Donor)ayg
I'd really like to say that no one could be that stupid. Unfortunately, the Pure Blood Supremacists in the Wizarding World probably are. So, everything of Muggle origin? Does that include things that were originally invented by Muggles and then made by Wizards, or only things that were actually made by Muggles?
Comments from author:
it means stuff invented by muggles even if they are manufactured by wizards. anything that remained in the ministry itself was either not recognized by the parameters of the wards as being 'muggle' origin, or else was actually invented by a wizard. even then,. anything invented by a wizard but built by muggles would count as well. it's pretty bad.

and realize, wizards use parchment for all their records etc. parchment was created by muggles. buckingham palace is currently filled with all the ministry's dirty little secrets.

Very good, this seems like something that Fudge and Umbridge would do without thinking through the consequences.

Jones as in indiana's dad? Was he teleported because he is a muggle born?
The foreign wands stayed? Does that mean ollivander is a muggle? Which would be interesting...
Generally a good concept, but could stand an author's note explaining the connecting logic behind this expression of it. Or, y'know, some exposition on harry's behalf in the sequel.

Good chaos, way to ruin Fudge.
Very arrogant. Very self absorbed of him to not know the Queen

Thank you. Those details, especially the dowels, are ones I was not aware of and they do make sense
Comments from author:
I needed a name, wanted to be funny, and in keeping with my tendency to reference my favorite shows and movies with temporary names (I reference Worf's adoptive parents in an early draft of one fic) I decided on Henry Jones. To be specific, I chose the last name Jones and Henry was the logical progression from there.

The foreign wands stayed because they were not made by Ollivander. Ollivander's has for the past couple centuries used wood that had been ahrvested, cut and formed into the 'dowels' that he uses to make the wands by muggles. Most foreign wand maker's still got and processed their own wood with magic.

The Wizarding world was so isolationist that they actually intended to ban everything of muggle origin. That shows some seriously institutionalized stupidity. Because of the way the wards were setup and coded, they basically took everythintg the magic counted as being of muggle origin and dumped it into buckingham palace. In one swoop Fudge has not only destroyed the British Ministry, risked completely ending thes tatute of secrecy, and has managed to COMPLETELY humiliate the pureblood supremacists by showing how MUCH of their world is muggle origin.

I actually intend for one of the other glimpses to involve the new candidate for Minister, when challenged by purebloods about her pro-muggleborn and tolerance stance, to challenge them to allow the Minsitry to enact the same muggle origin blocking wards on their properties. Most of them back down and shut up. One of them is stupid enough to accept, and to even be standing on the second floor of his house when he does so. Almost everything, including almsot the entire mansion, is ripped away and teleported to the new dump site by the wards. Almost the entire bloody house was either made by muggles or using materials that had been harvested and crafted by muggles.
