Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Cateagle
Review:
Okay, this definitely opens a few avenues for Xander to get back with both of them and to bring them together with the rest of Ragnarok. Methinks a certain other vengeance demon may regret what she's set loose here, though that may take a while. In the meantime, Xander, Buffy, and Anya have to full define their relationships and intimacies and *that* could get most interesting, intense, and erotic.
Comments from author:
Unfortunately, none of the three know *which* of Anyanka's former coworkers are responsible for this attack. At least at this time.

If and when that changes, the Triad is probably going to be uncertain as to whether to thank him or her, or just kill them immediately.

I think, they might do both, in that sequence. ;-)

Greywizard, while I appreciate you starting up this series again, I would appreciate it more, if you would pick up where you left off. With Xander at Hogwarts in Harry's 5th year, in Slytherin no less! Sirius in Sunnydale, trying to figure out how to keep on eye on Willow without Shiela Rosenburg nee Black spotting him. And how, exactly, did Jesse McNally survive a horrible car crash that should have killed him?! Considering where you left off, and how many strings you left untied....and considering the new story starts off with Buffy having a crush on Xander that we've no idea how it devoloped...and that you seem to have skipped a few years...could you please go finish your other story now!
Comments from author:
I'm trying to work on that very story, right now, but my muse is currently blocked about how to best handle certain events, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do about it. ;-(

How Jesse survived and how Sirius is going to deal with Sheila are going to be addressed in the next couple chapters, once I can resolve the current problem I'm stuck with.

As far as jumping around in the story's timeline, I've seen several series where there are concurrent stories going on, which are elaborating on particular events or storylines in that series. Most of those also involve time travel.

In any event, I'm glad you've enjoyed the stories so far, and I am trying to get things back on track regarding Ragnarok attending Hogwarts.

Thanks for reviewing and commenting.

Hey buddy; just a quick question, do you know if the other writer has every continued the story? Because we were left with one hell of a cliff hanger there!

Should have stunned Buffy rather than letting her make a hash of things.
Comments from author:
In his defense, Xander didn't really expect Buffy to be there when he confronted Anyanka, and with his older, more experienced mindset, he thought he'd be able to control the situation completely, once he gained control of Anyanka's power center.

NO ONE (except Norfrelik) ever expected Buffy to use the 'W'-word.

Review:
Oh, this is going to get real interesting. I suspect Anya's rival doesn't really understand about how much support Xander really has. It's going to be very, very interesting to see how matters resolve themselves over the next few months at a minimum.
Comments from author:
Norfrelik only knows as much about Xander, Ragnarok and the Scoobies as she's been able to observe by watching them, and she considers them all to be 'merely human.'

It's only if she tries to screw any of them over, and they learn who she is, that she'll really need to worry.

Wonderful story.
Very nice handling of Anyanka.
Interesting take on the politics of the upper reaches D'Hoffryn's crew, well handled.
Love this series!
Comments from author:
Thanks. I try to make the various plot developments as believable as I can, so I'm glad you thought they were relatively realistic. ;-)

Review:
Good to see more of this series.

Xander should have known better. A frustrated Buffy, especially a young, inexperienced, frustrated Buffy, is just like twenty year old TNT - very volatile and easily detonated. And, with his more mature mind, he had to know that Buffy was interested in him and that him keeping secrets about how they got along in the previous timeline was going to bug her something fierce. Procrastination is not your friend Xander. Having him know that the memories that Buffy and Anya have are from another reality and not the original timeline is a form of punishment for being less than forth coming.

Plus in her defense, in the original timeline Buffy didn't know Angel/Angelus was a mass murderer when she fell for him while Xander had known, at least subconsciously if not consciously from her very descriptive tales of her life, that Anyanka had a bigger body count than the entire Scourge of Europe. He just needs to accept that you love who you love and there is no rhyme or reason to that.
Comments from author:
Just realized that this wasn't previously answered. Sorry. ;-(

Yes, you're quite correct in what you're saying. Xander screwed up, primarily because he wasn't expecting to have to confront Anyanka quick this early, and he definitely wasn't planning on having Buffy around when he did so. His attention and focus was split, trying to figure out the best words to use when dealing with Anyanka, while also trying not to let too much slip out in front of Buffy.

Circumstances like that are simply a bomb waiting to go off, and now, as you've pointed out, Xander will have to deal with the consequences of his screw-up.

And yes, you really can't control who you end up caring about, but that's part of what being really human consists of.

Thanks for reviewing.

Very interesting chapter buddy; and I'll admit, I don't think I've ever seen this particular combination with Xander before. Of course, I was still hoping that Cordy comes into the mix somehow, but I suppose I'll get by *GRIN*

As always, looking forward to more of this story.

I have definite plans for Cordy and how her future unfolds, Red, and I think, once I can get to the point where I can reveal them, you're going to enjoy seeing what I have in store.

Glad you enjoyed the story. ;-)

Review:
For some reason, I think that long term, the wish will lead them to finding genuine happiness. It was still an awful thing to do, though.

I look forward to the next installment of this series. I want to find out what happens next.
Comments from author:
Norfrelik was taking advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to eliminate her rival, so the fact that the three eventually do benefit from this situation isn't something that she'd ever consider.

And vengeance demons are, by definition, not nice. Any rosy side-effects which occur as a result of their work are incidental and entirely unintended.

And the next story after this one, currently, is 'Portents and Retribution.'

Review:
Hoff is in for a nasty surprise of Xander ever tracks him down. Like getting a Cruciatus up his rear nasty. Xander doesn't play nice with people that hurt his girls.
Comments from author:
No, none of the Scoobies were particularly forgiving when it came to people who hurt anyone they cared about.

And while D'Hoffryn wasn't personally responsible for this incident, and the outcome actually turned out to be beneficial for him and his loved ones, I do think that, should the opportunity ever arise, Xander, Buffy and Anya would turn him and his minions into smouldering corpses without a second thought - if only to protect their own through a pre-emptive strike. ;-)
