Review of chapter "Final Chapter" from bookaholicau
Review:
Thank you so much for a good SLAYER!buffy. So many fanfics I've been reading seem to depower her (just as they place Willow in relationships with men) and it's great to see the same kickass feminist shero that Buffy is on the show.

This is a solid story, and I enjoyed the little interactions, particularly Buffy whapping Aragon on the head over Arwyn. The only minor critique is Buffy's insamne overprotectiveness of Dawn--which is understandable--although four months grounding did seem a bit excessive given the circumstances.

Dawn wasn't a brat in season 5, she lost her mom, Glory was after her and her sister was little miss important chosen one. Buffy is a condescending bitch in this story and she would never talk like that. Dawn is not a kid or child. Its called being a teenager(AKA- adolescent, young adult). In this story Buffy is the big hero when she isn't. She is just pushy in this. She can't control Dawn. Dawn's story 'Forms' is really good, but this is such bullshit.....

Enjoying it very much, just had to laugh at Dawn's outfit tho-"a leather shirt covered by email." (I now have visions of Dawn covered in "spam"!)eta- just saw your AN, and that someone else caught it too. There are only three kinds of mail armor-ring, scale (sic!) and chain- e-mail is a brand new word meaning electronic mail. The problem is probably due to wierdness with spell check? you really need a beta- it's pretty distracting! Contact me, if you like!

the spelling and grammer leave a lot to be desired, and some of the imagery just doesn't work (sheathing a troll hammer?). also, the soldier would only say 'milady' if he was directly addressing buffy, it's not her honary name or anything. he would probably say 'the lady' when talking about her, which would make more sense. other then that . . . well its okay, not brilliant, but okay.

This is a decent fic; I enjoyed it rather a lot (having also enjoyed 'Forms') and think after some polishing it will be a very solid fanfic--as well as a good basis for a sequel. As for how to justify misplacing the other end of their portal, I would recommend taking a look at a BtVS/AtS transcripts site and snatching appropriate lines from incantations there... anyway, I don't think your 'deus ex machina' thingy needs any additional arranging, as you've already got the phrase "where we belong." Given that, you can justify them appearing just about anywhere you want, with the reasoning that the PTB judged that they belonged there. Best wishes for your writing... I'll be reading.

Review:
This was a wonderful fic. I truely enjoyed it and I liked the way you had Buffy interact with the people of Middle Earth. She is a strong woman and there is no way she would put up with their guff. Thank you for an intereting fic and more soon I hope. With maybe a little Xander and Willow thrown into the mix?

in your end note you said "Dawn might wanted to be treated as a grownup. But she is still a kid and kids deep down don't want responsibilities. They just want to be taken seriously." Truer words were never spoken. I'm a mother of a 6 yr old. While she is no where near ready to be respondsable for herself I DO make a point of taking her serious when she is talking to me seriously. Whether what she says is factual or not doesn't matter, the fact that I will stop and listen to her is the important thing. If more adults would take minors seriously I truely believe we'd (adults working with kids) come up with some amazing things! thank you for writing such a great story.:)
