Nice tie-in to the "one who sees" / "Grimm" world--not feeling forced like a lot of these crossovers do. All it needs next is for Xander to 'see' the First Slayer's face superimposed over any slayer he meets, briefly. Maybe leading to a 'real' Grimm mistaking one for a demon/wesen type?

That was very evocatively written, well done! I have one quibble: I think there's a typo in the last paragraph. Did you mean to say he "was a townie with*out* a town" rather than "with a town"? That aside (and there's always one), congratulations on writing such a believable Xander in such vivid surroundings.
Nice story! Loved the evolution of Xander's thoughts over the course of the story, the positive tone at the end, and the way you fleshed out his motivation to keep trekking through Africa. Marce also came across as a well fleshed out character, with a distinct personality, history, strengths, and weaknesses.

I like this! Xander as a Grimm (even if from a branch of the family that didn't get the extra fighting skill along with the ability to see 'Wesen' faces) makes a lot of sense, and you gave this story a great sense of place.

This was a beautiful story. Xander is really going to do a lot of good in Africa. I'm sorry that he couldn't find the new Slayer in time, but glad that he and Marce are probably going to be able to work things out. His conversations with Willow were very well done -- I love how they seemed to understand each other without directly saying everything, and how good friends they are. Also, Xander and Willow joking about Grimm Reapers was a nice touch. This is a very well done Xander in Africa story.

I like it - because of the timing it then becomes a "prequel" to the Grimm series. Maybe Xander could find his cousin years later contemporary to the series.

I only ever saw one episode of Grimm, but this seems a very effective story. It works well on its own, or would be good as the starting point for a longer series.
