Review of chapter "A Proposal" from RedCalypso

Review:

I've just finished rereading Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom and I love this take on it. I have to ask, have you ever read the Melendy stories by Elizabeth Enright? I could see Randy as a Slayer.

Edit: It's a series of books set in the 40s about the Melendy children: Mona (who wants to be an actress), Rush (who wants to be a pianist), Miranda/Randy (who paints and is a ballet dancer) and the youngest Oliver (who has no set plans).
