I am enjoying Dawn's introduction to Gone-Away Lake and look forward to her adventures there. I loved the books and your descriptions have brought back fond memories of them.

My daughter has a current habit of asking such questions as: Mummy what's the best thing about toast? Usually followed by: No mummy, you can't say melty butter. What's the BEST thing about toast apart from melty butter?

I tend to feel much the same way about your writing: What's the best thing.... I like your writing style, and the humour of your ideas very much. And I particularly love the way you present random pieces of literature that compel me to investigate it afterwards.

I loved these books as a child! I am really looking forward to seeing how you adapt them. Thanks for the illustrator/edition details. It occurs to me that my daughter is just about the age to be reading these and I will now have a much easier time finding them.
