Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it. With regard for Buffy and Faith 'redeeming' both Jedi and Sith... I don't think my story will have that much of an impact on the Star Wars universe. I suppose I intend for this story to take place alongside the events of the existing Star Wars timeline, which will continue onward towards the eventual rise of the Galactic Empire and it's downfall at the hands of the Rebel Alliance one day.

None of that means, however, that this tale of Buffy and Faith won't have a satisfying, definite conclusion, but I intend for it to be an addition to the existing mythos of both series, and not rewriting either one (unless you count the Buffy comics, which I personally don't).

Thank you very much! I'm very glad that Buffy's slide to the Dark Side seems credible. I honestly wasn't sure how I was going to pull it off at first. There's an old saying: 'The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.' Pretty much every fallen hero in every story ever told started off wanting to do what seemed right at the time. If/when Buffy's personality becomes even darker, I hope you find it just as believable.

Shouldn't that be Lady Sunhome? I'm pretty sure that tradition or not, Buffy wouldn't use the masculine.

I thought about having her go by 'Lady Sunhome,' but in my experience with the games, 'Lord' is a gender-neutral title that is used regularly by both male and female Sith. Besides, Lord sounds more intimidating than Lady, at least to my mind's ear.

Enjoying Buffy's growth in the force. Hope she keeps on remembering to do good despite the evil around her. She will show them a side to the Force ignored by the Sith who blindly follow anger, hate, and fear.

As to when I will be updating The Better Part of Valor... My part as the main author for that story is over, I think. I have had it listed for some time that I am seeking a co-author who can bring a level of enthusiasm to the story that I simply do not possess. I would love to remain on in an editorial and advisory capacity, but the actual writing would be left to someone else (in my ideal future).

This has been a great story so far. I assumed it was going to be Faith who was the Sith but I'm glad that it was Buffy instead! There are far too many stories with Buffy being the hero and its a nice change of pace for Faith. Still coming into this story its a hard notion to believe that Buffy would be on the bad side, but you have written the subtle transformation and following descent so well that it is hard to believe she was anything but. Also, the switching POVs between chapters is brilliant as it keeps the pacing of the story so that there is never a dull moment.

I'd also like to offer a bit of constructive criticism if I may. Regarding the Buffy/Faith interludes I felt the dialogue was a bit wooden, almost robotic, but strangely it didn't feel like that anywhere else in the story. I'm also curious about Buffy in general as it seems Faith has more of an internal monologue so we can understand her POV better where with Buffy it seems she is a bit more hidden from our prying eyes. Thinking about it now this could actually just be a plot device to add more of a clashing between Jedi/Sith ideals within the main protagonists.

Anyways, I love this story its well written and a good read. Not sure if you plan to continue but if you are then there better be a Buffy and Faith lightsaber duel! Either way thank you so much for this enjoyable read and I look forward to possible future writings.

You are not the first to point out to me that I need to show more of what's going on inside of Buffy's head, and I intend to take that advice to heart when I continue this story. I cannot, however, give you a date for when the next chapter will be posted. My Muse has been uncooperative for quite a while, unfortunately, but I definitely want to give this story a proper wrap-up and ending.

As for the dialog in the interludes seeming a bit stilted or robotic, I intended it to come off that way. They are dreaming, and dreams are surreal things. I tried to emulate the tone set in the opening scene of the episode 'This Year's Girl' in which Buffy and Faith are in a bedroom together and speaking cryptically in near-monotone as they make the bed. I am sorry if it feels awkward to read, but that was to some extent the intended effect.

To be honest this felt a little....., hurried? Like you were trying to cram too many things into a single (short) chapter. An epic story, like the death of a Jedi master that Faith loved, deserves to take its time. It deserved a little Dragonball Z treatment, and not the 20 episodes long power ups, cause they sucked, but at least a battle and a good lead up journey towards that battle that takes its sweet time. Now I'm feeling more like how come Hutt credits are fake credits as opposed to OMG! Faith's master and beloved tutor died! It didn't really feel as his crowning moment of awesome.

Not saying it sucked, but it could have been better.

I am so sorry to disappoint. I've never written off a character in this way before, so this is new territory for me. If I ever have to do something like this again, I'll try to make it last longer and feel more significant. If you have any specific ideas on how it could have been improved, I would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story, but I have no reason to call Buffy anything resembling 'Sumar.' This is not another Star Wars fanfic with Buffy as Empress Sumar. 'Faith in the Force,' I think it was called. I hope you continue to enjoy my story, but I do hope you will take it on its own and not expect me to use the same ideas as other authors.

Hmm, I wonder if Faith will still like Buffy once they finally do meet up again. She continues to change for the worse with each chapter.

Will Faith still like Buffy? I doubt it. Buffy's current philosophy seems to be a bit too close to 'want, take, have.' Faith does not want to see her old self in Buffy, but I can't imagine any anger over it. Sadness, definitely, and a desire to help. We will see how things turn out.

With regards to your e-cookie, I don't think you can have a Buffy-flavored pastry. She is only ever cookie dough, remember? ;-)

I hope Buffy's real test was to not abandon Dalen. Defeating the creature was secondary.

Alas, I would say that the test was to determine how much power in the Dark Side that Buffy possessed. Not only that, but her willingness to use it.

The people who built these ruins were not very nice at all. They were pretty much the opposite of nice. All of the niceness-making factories on all of their worlds were burned to the ground before they could ever be built, and the nice people who came up with the idea to spread niceness around were summarily executed.

They were a people who valued things that were not nice. The Dark Side is not a nice thing. They liked the Dark Side. A lot.

And, I see the bell is about to ring. Your homework, good sir or madam: construct a diorama that depicts the perpetual struggle between the Forces of Nice and the Legions of Not-Nice.

So, i'm guessing that Buffy will be an Inquisitor due to that storm?

I'm not saying that Buffy or Faith have to fit into any of the classes from the game. The MMO just gives them a setting to have the story take place in. Buffy is a Sith, Faith is a Jedi. I won't definitively say that they can't use abilities or powers from only one class. They can use the Force in whatever way they learn how. It's more fun that way. ~_^
