Review of chapter "Chapter One" from djhardim
What ever else you do, put a hairy mole on the end of her nose. From then on, that will be the one thing that people remember about her.

EDIT: I forgot the gap between her front teeth with a piece of spinach she can't get rid of.
Comments from author:
Oh, that's *nasty*! ;-)

Maybe she'll live long enough for someone to think of that particular punishment. ;-)

You could use the same punishment you used for Angelus - Barney, My Little Pony, etc.
Comments from author:
True, that's one solution, but I personally really don't see any reason why they should let the bee-otch live.

She's got the emotional maturity of a rabies-infected, sugar-hyped five-year-old, and hasn't learned not to screw around with people's lives despite her very long life. If it had been me, she would've been gutted immediately, and her head used as part of the toilet bowl.

"Chip" her like Spike(geas?) and bind her to the lowest deity in the Greek Pantheon.
Comments from author:
That's one solution, but I think what's more likely is, gut her and have her head mounted above the fireplace. ;-)

Suggestion: Have Aphrodite gain five pounds for every person she screws with. Her face breaks out too. Doing good for someone causes her to loose a pound.
Comments from author:
That's a funny idea, but I don't really see Xander being in the sort of mood to really appreciate that sort of humor.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from TempestKitsune
I'd have to say that Xander would probably end up killing her. Even with Anya attempting to intervene; the fact that Aphrodite is such a thoughtless, mean-spirited bitch points to her either not being a true focus for love in all of its forms, or her being so corrupted that she doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things. Also, Xander is very likely to point out that even if she is *a* focus of those feelings, she's not the only focus for them. Because if the Greek pantheon are valid, so are the other major pantheons, including Egyptian and Norse; meaning that with her out of the picture, those goddesses are very likely to simply pick up the slack.

Also, given Anya's history, she's very likely to tell Xander to take the shot, no matter what she told the Powers That Can Suck It she was going to say.
Comments from author:
Everything you point out is quite valid, and I would think that Anya would merely promise to deliver the Powers That Suck that she'd deliver their message, and not promise to do anything more.

And I also think she would unquestionably suggest that Xander cut the bitch's throat like a pig at a slaughterhouse, based on Aphrodite's past history of screwing people over, just for fun.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Drake
So Xander was raped... sorry, but reading the base story, everyone there was raped, not just Xander. Why is it that Xander is dealing with the rape so much worse than the girls? For that matter Buffy seems to still think the things she felt while she was raped were natural (comparing Xander to her previous lovers).

Dealing with Aphrodite I can see; only Xander crying rape and suffering emotional breakdown I can't. Still a decent read.
Comments from author:
I had Buffy point out that *everyone* involved was raped, not just Xander.

And I'm also incorporating the mindset Joss was so vehement in having Buffy, et al, propagate the last couple seasons of the series - that being, because Xander's merely a normal human and doesn't have any superpowers or magic, that he needs to be "protected".

That's part of the reason Buffy is so upset - she feels like she's failed to protect her friends. As far as her other reactions are concerned, Buffy is still a poster child for mental trauma, as are all of the Scoobies. They're all suffering major cases of PTSD, and they all need long term vacations to relax and get rid of their accumulated stresses and talk to psychiatrists.

And Xander wasn't the one crying rape and breaking down emotionally - he views them *all* as having been violated by Aphrodite's magic. He's simply the one who suffered the most physical trauma from having sexual relations with so many superhumanly strong women in the same night, and it's taken him this long to recover and get back to an approximation of his former physical condition.

Faith and Dawn, because of feeling responsible for initiating the circumstances which led to this mess and because they weren't physically injured, were simply the ones who sought out the means for destroying Aphrodite. If Faith and Dawn hadn't gone out on their own, Buffy and the others involved would have done precisely the same thing, but done it as a long-term project.

No one involved in this mess was simply going to let this incident go unanswered. Allowing a powerful being with no moral scruples, who thinks that it's okay to subjugate others mentally and play with people like they are dolls, to run free is not something anyone with any brains wants to see happening around them.

Aphrodite's time started running out as soon as she cast that spell. The last few grains are simply rolling down the sides of the hourglass now.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Vilkath
Funny how the powers failed to step in to do anything to protect Xander and the rest of the Scooby gang. They are after all the main force of good in the world and Aphrodite's actions pretty much caused some severe mental trauma to a large portion of the core of the group. If it had driven the group apart it would of upset their precious balance pretty badly as well.

It's pretty acurate to how the Powers were portrayed in the series though. They pretty much just strung along the good guys and got in the way more than they really helped.
Comments from author:
Yeah, it's quite telling that the Powers only step in and let their presence be known *after* their so-called Champions have been screwed over, isn't it? That tells me a lot about just how much they value them.

And even if he did consider letting Aphrodite live, I would expect Xander to wring some major concessions from them.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Cutiepie
Oh, this should be interesting. What on earth could the PTB have to say that would be compelling enough to get Anya to be their spokesperson, much less to get Xander to agree with their plans? Of course, Anya might have just agreed to do it as an excuse to go see Xander again, in person, so maybe their "argument" isn't even going to be that good. Nah, I'm thinking that our friendly "Prophecy-breaker" is taking another swing and the blonde ditz is going down. Wonder if ancient Goddess-type parts are any good for spell components?
Comments from author:
Personally, I can't think of anything, short of the threat of an immediate and complete apocalypse, which would make Xander even consider letting this bitch live.

And I can easily see Anya agreeing to act as their messenger in order to see Xander again, giving him their 'request,' and then telling him that he should ignore their stupid request, act in his own best interest and put this bitch down ASAP, before them having Aphrodite stuffed and mounted like any other dangerous animal. ;-)

And I would think that *any* deity's body parts would be majorly powerful spell components. Maybe so valuable as to make it a point to not let anyone outside their core group know that they even have them.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Ints
Given that Xander has always been capable of being a ruthless bastard and keeping a grudge like no other, double so if the target of his ire messed with his friends, it's a safe bet that Greek pantheon will be short one goddess of love.

Loved the story.
Comments from author:
Glad you enjoyed the story.

And I think you're probably correct. Even if it's only to ensure his loved ones long-term safety, I can easily see Xander putting this bitch down like a rabid animal.

Add in his personal feelings about what she did to him and 'his girls,' and the bitch is toast.

My compliments for picking up and carrying on my story! It's a good read, with interesting possible consequences for all the presented characters. As for me, I think given how the PTB showed up with Anya as their spokesmodel, the Scoobies might sufficently think over their intended vengeance to then screw out a few concessions from those godly schmucks. I leave it to you to decide what Xander and the others would demand and get. However, no matter how it ended, Aphrodite needs to be summarily dealt with.

You're right in that this selfish, spoiled goddess wouldn't ever let go of her assault and chaining by Dawn and Faith. Still, there's an actual way to keep Aphrodite in check while still punishing her with extreme humiliation. It's based on one simple fact: you don't ever make Mommy mad.

Have Xander use the Rib of Kronos to completely shave Aphrodite's head bald (which due to the immense magic laid on that object will cause this to be both permanent and unalterable by anyone at all), and then scatter every single blonde strand throughout the entire world. Put some of these in various places sacred to gods of other pantheons, but in the main, dedicate this sacrifice to none other than Gaia herself, the heavenly mother of all Greek gods, either by direct conception or descendant thereto.

If Aphrodite ever attempts to then to move against the Scoobies after this, either overtly or in as a subtle manner as she might try, that bitca is gonna be slapped down by a motherly hand the size of the whole planet.

Thanks for your hard work!
Comments from author:
Thanks for reviewing, and I'm glad you enjoyed the follow-up.

You're correct about Aphrodite not ever even considering a 'live and let live' policy, since I see her as having the emotional maturity of a narcissistic four year old, and forgiveness not being part of her vocabulary. And I can't see the Scoobies wanting to even consider cooperating with the Powers That Be Completely Useless unless they can get some *major* concessions from them, and could be confident that they wouldn't get screwed over again.

Your idea about invoking Gaia to ensure her compliance is intriguing, and I'll see how it influences what, if anything, my muse decides to do with any possible follow-up.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from cmdruhura
In my opinion, Xander won't kill her, though he may use the rib to do a bit of surgery, without a valid license of course but that won't bother him or the others that much. A few scars on her back and maybe her arms and legs that she has to keep covered up might be in order. Though a single, small scar on her left cheek might be more than enough to get his point across about restraint.

BTW were there any other consequences to the night of passion?
Comments from author:
Given this narcissistic sociopath's history, I would rather doubt that anyone with any sense of self-preservation would leave Aphrodite alive after disfiguring her.

That's basically asking her to focus her full measure of hatred, petty viciousness and malice on you and the people you care about for the rest of your lives, because I can't see Aphrodite ever even considering NOT making someone who marked/disfigured her, in even the slightest way, pay for it for the rest of their existence. You need to remember, this is someone who has all the emotional maturity of a cranky, spiteful, sugared-up four year old.

And no, there weren't any other consequences of that incident, aside from some problems with possible embarrassment and/or self-consciousness about what happened.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Ahdamnit
He pretty much has to kill her, she's so petty she's going to cause a bunch of trouble for the gang if she's let free. It'll probably get some of the gang killed. She can't be trusted to keep her word so that's right out the window. Anya'd have to do some pretty convincing talking for Xander to buy any thing the PTB are selling. Oh and what's this about Aphrodite being the focus of love or some such nonsense? There is more than one love deity in mythology and the world should be able to do fine with one less petty bitch in it.
Comments from author:
Yeah, I pretty much agree with your analysis, but I left it open-ended, since I would admit it's *remotely* possible that they could work out some sort of deal which would result in Aphrodite remaining alive. Not very likely, but possible.

The reference to her being a focus was with respect to the Greek pantheon, not meaning she was the only one.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from TAO
Hmmm...y'know...given his ordeal, it could be argued that Xander could probably make a wish and D'Hoffyn's minion might just grant it (if only to get a shot at bringing down a goddess like Aphrodite).

Or...maybe Xander might find a way to disfigure the bitch.
Comments from author:
That's rather doubtful.

And it's not really a good idea to disfigure a self-centered, narcissistic, extremely powerful egotist and then walk away and leave them alive, is it?
