A pebble. I like it :) Sounds like he is aiming for the quiet life, where everything just works out, and he aims to get it! A pity that he can't confide in his friends more but I guess he can see how that would turn out :( Maybe when they are a bit older and more mature? I wonder if he could still get surprises from beings at the level of Glory, Jasmine, Illyria or the Senior Partners?

In the game, Otha Herzog pretty much can only be out-maneuvred by events that change the entire fabric of the universe, so...most likely not. Possibly the Wish spell and the forgetting of Connor, but the latter was never something that Xander knew about anyway...

Brilliant...I loved AEON back in the day, this is a great extension of the philosophies and crazy talents the players had access to. Great work for a one shot. Really nice.

Okay...I'm giving this a ten because I'm a fan of the old White Wolf Aeon/Trinity 'verse. I've written stories crossed with that genre before but, alas, I can't post those here (except for the one) because they aren't crossed over with BTVS and I don't want to exceed the ratio.
However, I must confess that out of the three settings in that 'verse, Trinity was my least favorite (I favored Aberrant and Adventure!...still play in a campaign of Adventure! now and then...gotta' love that pulp-era setting).
But Xander dressing up as Otha Herzog...it fits, especially with the whole "One Who Sees" thing he gets tagged with later on.
But now, you've got my mafia plot bunnies riled up and I'm getting ideas of writing a drabble where Xander dresses up as a certain pulp-era adventurer named Max Mercer....or as a certain Doctor Primoris (now that could open a whole new can of worms).

I always loved AEON and Adventure! the best, maybe because Aberrant was so blatantly not part of the same universe (though a great game, it would perhaps have been better off as stand-alone). I think the reason I loved AEON so much was because compared to every single other rpg sci-fi setting it was just so darn *optimistic*. Even comparing it with Star Wars had AEON coming up rosier in the end. After all, this is a setting where the proxies (the demi-godlike super-psychics Otha Herzog was one of) were all good guys. They made mistakes, yes, but they all had the same goal: save the world with as little bloodshed as possible.

Good. Totally in keeping with his latter title of "The One Who Sees". It occurs to me that he will be most effective if the others don't find out what he is doing.

Wow. Just... wow. I'm kinda curious though, did he do all that stuff (with the exception of revealing Angel's soul claus) just to mess with the students or was it to serve a larger purpose?

Well, that remains to be revealed, doesn't it? *grin* He certainly meddled with Jack O'Toole's crew by simply revealing to them he's undead long before he gets a chance to convert them...
I may return to this some day. Maybe.
