Okay, so i know this question is completely beside the point of this fic but, Buffy dated Artemis? I don't remember reading that in Tabula Avatar. Is she going to date Artemis? Cause I still remember Artemis's comment of 'if only I was younger' and chuckling over the larger age-gap between Buffy and her previous boyfriends. But then, it's been a while since I read the main books of your series, maybe I've forgotten stuff.

All that aside, interesting story, I'm curious to see how events unfold in Tabula Avatar in relation to this fic.
Comments from author:
Buffy has not yet dated Artemis in Tabula Avatar but she will in future chapters; he reappears in the story in the chapter that I'm writing now.

Review:
This promises to end badly for poor Sorkatani... I hope that wall gets bludgeoned down and she possibly restored to life. It's the bloody least they (probably) owe her. Been there, done them? Including Entreri? Dear me, she really has bad luck with her boyfriends...

Thanks for writing

Sorkatani will not be restored to life; her boyfriend is waiting for her in the Palace of Loss (now renamed 'Friends Reunited' since Shar's visit to Earth hinted at in the last APoS chapter).

Bad luck with her boyfriends? In 'A Plague of Serpents' one of the epitaphs on the gravestones at Crossroad Keep reads 'Bishop. He was a bastard, but he was our bastard'. And, yes, Buffy does date him between this story and that one.

Awesome! I wondered when you would return to your mega crossover - Les Morts Dansant was good, but it didn't catch my attention the way the Tabula Avatar series did. And we got to see the Knight Captain and are introduced to the Crusade... This was good.

Thanks for writing

Nice bridge clearing up some questions from DoB/PoS. I have to agree with removing the Wall as well, it has no purpose existing. I recall in Prince of Lies, that there are a few ways to permanently destroy a soul without using the wall and are much quicker. Makes me wonder why such punishment isn't used. Couple of questions though.

1. If Kenadi was a slayer, then how skilled is Cierre?

2. Buffy and Entreri? Hope you have a one shot or an arc in TA for that. LOL

3. Waukeen charge card?

Thanks for updating this verse. Can't wait for updates on PoS and TA.

Especially PoS, we're back to the gate room.
Comments from author:
1) Very skilled - she's jealous of Drizzt, and has been working hard to try to catch up, plus she was well-trained as a fighter in Menzoberranzan - and she's also very strong (enough that a fairly new Slayer doesn't have much of an edge over her). But mainly she won because Kenadi's weapons weren't best suited to take advantage of her strengths and because Cierre faked Kenadi out by pretending to be stunned when really she'd resisted.

2) An arc in TA.

3) To be told in 'Stairway to Heaven', coming next after TA is finished.

Review:
Well, I certainly agree with the goal of tearing down the Wall of the Faithless - I got into a nasty flamewar years ago on a gaming site against some apparently religious twits who actually thought it was a just punishment for the "crime" of not having religious faith, when I was loudly decrying it as the worst injustice *ever* in the D&D multiverse - but Buffy's being a real bitch here.

Seriously - she won't give the newbie Slayer *critical, need-to-know information* (to quote Burt Gummer), or teach her little things, like, you know, how to maybe not die in battle against major supernatural foes unless the newbie can beat her in a fight, something said newbie has no chance of doing? The height of hypocrisy really, since she hated that treatment herself when she was starting out as a newbie Slayer.

Temina should tell her to stick it and continue to do her best as well as she can. Since Buffy's obviously not going to help, Temina should stop wasting her time with her. Of course, if Temina dies due to lack of useful training, well, maybe by the time the next Slayer comes around Buffy will have gotten bored with getting her kicks playing the "mysterious, but useless, trickster mentor" and actually be inclined to provide help, rather than just beatings and fortune-cookie wisdom. I'm rather disgusted with her here, and I really, really like your main Tabula Avatar series. Or maybe she'll just keep watching young Slayers die for her amusement - perhaps she's inherited the mantle of Quentin Travers after all.
Comments from author:
It's not Buffy's fault; Lathander has given her strict orders to do it this way. He wants any overconfidence knocked out of his paladin before she comes up against another exceptional fighter and suffers the fate that Kenadi Nefret suffered when she came up against Cierre - who was almost as strong and fast and had the advantage of a hundred years of combat experience.

And Buffy did drop a hint before the fight as to how Temina could win, or at least stand an even chance, but Temina didn't listen carefully enough to pick up on it. Next time Buffy will make the hint plainer - and, if Temina still doesn't get it, for the third fight Buffy will make it so plain that only an idiot could miss it.

Temina has to have won one of the next two fights or Buffy wouldn't be there in 'A Plague of Serpents'.

YES. YES. Wait, does this mean Tara is dead?
Comments from author:
Thank you. No, Tara isn't dead, she's in Rashemen (with Willow and Minsc); she seems to have a special connection to the Slayer spirit, as indicated by her appearance in 'Restless' in the role of Sineya's herald, and that's why I'm using her in a similar role here.
