Review of chapter "In which Xander thinks too much" from AceDreamer
Review:
Excellent piece of work. Just found this, and I'm very impressed.

I guess we're still waiting to see if a TARDIS turns up, or, if not a TARDIS what the homing beacon pulls in. If whatever it is targets the last spot a beacon was active in Xander's time line then would it arrive in the warehouse, when the beacon disappeared? Might take even memory-enhanced Xander a while to think about going back to check there. I think in the original Buffy episode all that was left was memories and skills...

Based on the way the spell works, and that the beacon seemed to be working, then _something_ should have been summoned, maybe even created. Is it just me, or would Janus, given his divine aspects, approve of the idea of a Time Lord? Could Xander have become an (unknowing, and very inobvious) avatar of Janus? Something (or someone?) not in the same time frame as where the spell terminated might give Janus some wiggle room about what happens as the spell ends?

If no one can find Willow, and Xander has access to something that looks like even a shadow of a TARDIS, then even with a very broken set of Time Lord memories I'm pretty sure what Xander would do... Which might be a very good explanation why no one could find Willow... The TARDIS might have a Zero Room which could be good for what ails Xander... Xander might get really messed-up due to crossing his own timeline...

The (canon) incident with Anyanka trying to get Willow to get her power centre back, cross-time, suggests both that time magic works in the Buffyverse, and that there are no obvious guardians of time. Vampire Willow suggests strange stuff can come from no longer real places in the past of the Buffyverse... (Cordelia, the wish maker, escaped from the wish (destroying the late-Buffy-arrival reality?) by the breaking of Anyanka's power centre.) If the Halloween spell created a TARDIS it could arrive by the same sort of mechanism, even if the spell which created it no longer exists...

Even a really crippled TARDIS that couldn't go far from its power source (say the Hellmouth substitutes for the Eye of Harmony) could do some interesting stuff...

(Zander looks at a rescued Willow. "Want to become my companion, little girl?", and waggles his eyebrows. Willow goes bright red...)

Hmm, it looks to me like Thirteen had more effect on Xander than he thinks...

Good chapter.

Good to see a new chapter of this, even if it's just a bunch of Xander's thoughts.

Great, great story. I have no idea of where your story is going, but it is a totally marvelous trip.

Of course the Ultimate Question is still, does Xander have one or two hearts? Lol!

Review of chapter "In which Xander thinks too much" from SlykeDB
Review:
overall like the story, but this last chapter was a lot of really really boring introspection that led nowhere. And we got to listen to Xander's pity party, his fictional hero would be disappointed in him? Really? When he found out about monsters he chose to help people stood, between someone he hated and death. Whether or not he had the ability to stake Jesse or not he confronted him to help Cordelia which was about as close to his arch nemesis as it gets. He's about the type of person that the doctor most likes. Doctor doesn't have any problems with slackers, hell Rose was a pretty lazy shop girl and Donna was a temp that bounced around unable to hold down a stable job. Only Martha in the recent series actually was any type of overachiever, a doctor who went on to join UNIT...

Liking this story very much. Sadly, the last chapter was a total wash. I skimmed through it to see if there was anything of importance and ended up reading the last few paragraphs.

I like your bit about Xander wishing that the 4th Doctor and Sarah Jane were his parents.

And something tells me that a combination of the vocabulary, and intuitive leaps, are far more complex than a 16 year old should usually have, let alone a 16 year old Xander...

Review of chapter "In which Xander thinks too much" from jimk
Review:
The chapter did a great job of showing someone all messed up mentally which is why I ended up just skimming down the page and not really reading it. There didn't seem to be any other point to the chapter. What he was thinking seemed pretty much irrelevant to the story so it seemed like a whole of words to say Xander is in shock, does not appear to still be a time lord and they're driving home fast. Not flaming in that sense but that I find writing that simulates incoherent thought too much effort to read, especially when it doesn't seem to actually matter as far as advancing the story. That said I'm very sure there are people who thought it was a brilliant chapter because it did do an excellent job of showing someone in shock. For me, it took too much effort and was no fun to read.
