Excellent story. All your characters ring true in my mind's eye theater. I almost feel sorry for Xander, but then again, Cordy is his alpha and she is Cordelia Chase. I wonder if Cordy will think Buffy or Willow would fit into her pack? Of course with Buffy and Cordy it will be the Clash of the Alphas.
Oh my - so far Cordelia is shaping herself to be the new big bad of the Hellmouth: that's no good for anyone involved, including herself. I honestly hope that Buffy, Giles and the others will be able to stop her before things get really bad.
Poor Xander (well, in so far as his friends' unhappiness is making HIM so unhappy right now), but I'm glad Cordelia is being smart about how she goes about expanding her Pack without unnecessarily riling up the local demon expert (Giles). Cordy always COULD be smart about things that mattered to her.

> Cordelia wondered why only losers presented interesting abilities. At this rate her pack would drag her down to loserdom with them.
Cordelia's problem always was how she defined loser. By a real world estimate, almost everyone she considered a loser through most of the series would be a winner, while those she considered winners were pure natural born losers. Consider the public faces and abilities of the various teenagers in Sunnydale High: Harmony? Destined to be a housewife or for the casting couch, with few prospects otherwise. Willow? Possibly the next Bill Gates. But Cordelia looks at Harmony and sees a winner, and looks at Willow and sees a hopeless loser.
It's no wonder that anyone worth having in her pack is a loser to her. Her priorities are screwed up. But then, that's the default status for most high school age kids.
She's building up a nicely diverse and strong pack. I think she should consider integrating Giles, Willow, Jenny, and Buffy into the pack. Of course when she runs into Buffy in her new state there's gonna be some sort of fight for dominance but that can't be helped, their territories are practically the same.
Great read and a strong Cordelia I am curious as to if Xander is an Omega yet though? I guess I do not know what an Omega is and wonder if Xander just needs to grow in to the role? Thanks Hoping for more
