I thought they were going to read Gordon in??? Inquiring minds want to know who the Slayer team spanked while they were covering for Batman. Great trialogue, as usual :)

I hope the dialogue's good! I go w/o dialogue tags so often, I don't want to make readers confused.

As for what's going on with Gordon...John is very much Batman. As much as he admired/admires Gordon and sorta hero-worshiped him before he found about abt the lying, his new-found primary goal is the protection of his city and secret identity. There's some subterfuge on John's part here. He's been gone for a year or more -- not only is he behind on the most recent news on the ground and he's no longer tapped into the most reliable resource for that information. Since the story is told from Gordon's POV instead of John's and/or Sarah's, you don't get that, just these little out of character moments or strange pauses that Gordon picks up on and files away for later inspection.

Re the slayer team...I never gave it serious thought, to be honest! lol...I was so keen on getting the story out, the first time around, then getting it published elsewhere before NaNo and Yuletide struck that this wasn't a detail I had fleshed out even in my own head.
