Review of chapter "Chapter One" from DieselDriver
Review:
That last line sounds almost exactly like what Tennyo said to Jade when they decided to be room mates at Whately Academy. Anyone who hasn't read them, really should.
Comments from author:
Once again I had to check back to see what I wrote!

Never heard of the characters you mention, they sound a little 'anemia' to my ears.

Cheers,
D.

Review of chapter "Chapter Nine." from DarthTenebrus
Review:
Great story there, mate! Loved the prequel too! The vast majority of this comment/review-type thing will involve this one, though.

So, a Wendigo, huh? I must admit to a complete lack of knowledge concerning the legend, but I will say that I saw nothing wrong with using the names of the US Colonial Marines from the USS Sulaco (or at least their ancestors, as one reviewer pointed out...) and the thrown-together Ranger squad from "Saving Private Ryan". I must therefore ask if everyone that has mentioned the name of the creature is correct in their assumption? When the Marines were setting that ambush, I half expected their prey to actually be a Xenomorph (Internecivus Raptus)...that would have been truly chilling as anyone who has viewed the "Alien" films knows the capabilities of even one specimen of that species!

So how come Faith never saw one hair on the head of Cordelia the whole time she spent in LA since she woke up?
Comments from author:
Wendigo: I started out with the Call of Cthulhu version, but then I did some research on Wiki and found the tradition beast much more interesting. Its a Native American (when I was little they called them Red Indians) legend used as a warning against cannibalism.

Names; every time I need a name for an original character I get a mental block! So I tend to use names of characters from films. I also have lists of surnames hidden away on my computer and a couple of links to 'Name' sites on the internet. I found I'd been using the same few names over and over, not good.

Faith/Cordy in LA; I forget how many millions of people there are in LA but I think you're unlikely to just bump into someone you know... Well that's what I thought, once when I was on Oxford Street in London I bumped into three people I knew in about the space of ten seconds, purely by accident! Anyway, the reality that Faith and Cordy are living in isn't the cannon reality.

Thanks for the review,
D.

Review:
Poor Faith. Of course there's no way she'll ever see combat, she's just a poor innocent little girl...

So NOT! I love that story, with Slayer references, the Initiative... I'm starting reading the next right now!
Comments from author:
Well, of course this is the good thing about prequels...you can reference things that are going to happen!

Cheers,
D.

You never disappoint. I'm just trying to figure out whether this series or the series with Willow and Kennedy are better. At any rate I'm looking forward to more Faith in the Army stories, they are all excellent.
Comments from author:
Seattle Slayers v Faith in the Army eh?

Personally I go with FITA, the SS fics went a bit OTT here and there and I've been tempted to re-write them but I decided against it.

Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing.

Cheers,
D.

Review of chapter "Chapter Nine." from bohica
Review:
I've been catching up on FFic and ran across this gem (and the others in the series).

Somehow, I suspect you're going to be responsible for me losing sleep over the next few days as I plow through your writings.

It's great to see a story(line) that is robust, well developed and is consistent to itself.

Good job so far - and I suspect great job overall!

Keep your muse's well fed and I look forward to your next endeavor.
Comments from author:
Thank-you very much, I hope you enjoy the rest of this series.

Don't lose too much sleep!

Cheers,
D.

Review of chapter "Chapter Nine." from AllenPitt
Review:
Great story. Funny that the army has a slayer in the ranks and doesn't even know it. And this when there were only 2 in the entire world. She's also the last of the Chosen slayers, if that means anything.
SGC in her future? Also hopefully she learns the truth about herself, or part of it. ...
Comments from author:
In, 'I'm Not a Loser' Faith finds something out, I'm not saying what though.

The SGC fic which I've been muttering about since I started this series, how many stories ago? The SGC fic will me about three stories from the end of the series I think. I've got four stories left to write and the SGC one will be one of them. But there's loads of stuff to post before then!

Faith in the Army will certainly be the longest series I've done with 20 stories, 16 of which have been either posted or are waiting to be posted...I've been doing A LOT of writing over the last couple of years.

Thanks for reading,
D.

Review:
I loved it. Faith finding her place in the world is pretty awesome. Sorry about missing the various mentions of the creatures that described different individuals. The Rangers aren't trained in friend or foe identification when monsters are concerned so those recruits were murdered.

While I'm disappointed the idiot-in-charge didn't get eaten, I enjoyed the story nonetheless. The minor errors are easily fixed with an editor/proofreader.
Glad that you're continuing this series. Looking forward to the next story.

I liked this story and hope you come up with more tales of Faith as a soldier in the future. I know a weird way to get a crossover with Stargate. Faith is recruited to become part of one of their Army teams (they have them.)
Comments from author:
There's about ten stories already posted after this one and another four or five not posted.

Review of chapter "Chapter Nine." from TheLandYacht
Review:
Excellent story! More more more!

I particularly like your depiction of Faith's first experience (that she can remember) with "ambush cramps". She's got no idea what's goin on so all she knows is PAIN out of nowhere.

As to what people have said about the new rules for females in combat role, the whole reason for pullin her out of (was it Somalia, can't remember) was because of the no-females-in-combat thing...now that those rules are going away...perhaps you can use it to make our girl SHINE!

And yeah, I've read up to the last story to-date "Wild Side".

Please continue, we thirst for more, always more!
Comments from author:
Yemalia, a sort of cross between Yemen and Somalia...Faith will be back in Yemalia at least twice in the near future.

Cheers,
D.
