Ouch, Aragorn got a bit of a shock there. Is Buffy just going to pop into this story as herself? Or is she going to be reincarnated as another character?

Very good chapter. I like Aragorns dreams about Buffy. His reaction (his thoughts about shieldmaidens) fit very well with Aragorns character from Tolkiens works. I also like very much how you kind of include "The Hobbit" in your story.
I can`t wait to read more. Don`t let us hanging too long ;)
P.S.: Trying to include my thoughts about what I like and why into my reviews. Hope you like :)

You added the new chapter just as I tracked the first one so it yelled at me that I wasn't done yet lol.
Half-Elven status doesn't work that way for the record. If a parent is half-elven so are the kids. Thus the twins and arwen's half-elvenness. Elrond's brother was also half-elven but chose the human side of himself. If Arathorn II is half-elven, so too is Aragorn II. That would give him even longer life than regular dunedain. From 200ish years to more like 3 or 400. And that's IF wherever up the line it is Aragorn's ancestor was a half-elf who chose humanity. If not, then Aragorn would be elf with the choice to surrender his immortality... I did some research on this for a fic of my own.
Other than nitpicks about that particular little tidbit, this is going really well. Arwen certainly can't be Buffy reincarnated... again. The fact that both her lives she looked exactly the same works against that. She's certainly not going to be rohirric, if you reincarnate her... again, they're too... how to put this... sexist? The last Shieldmaiden was hundreds of years before when Buffy would have to be born to match with Aragorn. A Buffy raised in that environment, unless she had her memory in her head, would be no shieldmaiden. Hmm....
Edit: How is he related to Elros though? I can't seem to pin the line down. Only line that's easy to follow leads to the last queen of numinor, who though in this is Elendil's love had no confirmed children, though admittedly Elendil's wife is equally unknown.
Edit V2: I knew Elros was his twin, one of the things I found during my research about half-elven. Was just having trouble tracking the line down to Isildur or Elendil. The site I was using had everyone's direct family, but nothing past like two generations in either direction. Very annoying.

Lol about the half-elven status. I know that, and you know that, but Aragorn is a six year old who is looking to make excuses for why the person he thinks of as his dad is nothing like him. And Aragorn is descended from Elros (just like in the book), but it is very far in the distant past.
As for Buffy, no comment as of yet. Yeah, you are right, she is definitely not Arwen. And as for the rest, well...you'll see.
Edit: Well Elros was Elrond's twin. He chose mortality and became the first King of Númenor. Aragorn is descended from his line, through Elros's great-great granddaughter Silmariën. Silmariën's line produced Amandil, Elendil, Isildur, and Anarion--and Aragorn is descended from Isildur's fourth son, Valandil.
And yes, Elendil's wife is never named so I took some artistic license that Miriel married Elendil. But even if I hadn't changed the story, Aragorn is still a direct descendant of Elros.

I never gave much thought to how confusing having his identity kept secret from him might have been, but yeah, that's probably be a bit weird for anyone.
Should be interesting to see how his dreams of Buffy will affect him.

Thanks!
Yeah, this sort of made me laugh when I recently was going through the books again. It is all well and good if Elrond tells Aragorn the story, but what if he had found out on his own? The Dunedain do have the gift of foresight, after all. And can you imagine having to go by one name for twenty years, then go by another for the next sixty, and then yet another once you are king? Not to mention all the years he goes by Thorongil. Poor Aragorn, he's so confused. LMAO
I can't say how much I've wished you would continue this wonderful story. I love this new chapter, and I can't wait to see little Aragorn grow up in Rivendel. Are you going to show his (and possibly Buffy's) childhood, or are you going to skip ahead?
Thank you for posting, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter!

Thanks, I am glad you decided to stick with me. Yes, we are going to see Aragorn grow up in Rivendell. This story is running rather concurrently with Buffy's and will end as she is about to return to Middle-earth. It will be short like GoI, about ten chapters. It is the third story which will feature Buffy's rebirth and the War of the Ring.
