Review:
ok definately a good story though it does need updating!
i'd like to see xander/karl find a small pocket of naquadah on his trip and bring a decent sample back to the atlantia with him. maybe andrew or jonothan can use it to come up with sheilds and energy weapons? although why either of them hasn't already designed a fusion reactor yet i don't know? after all it was common tech from their characters! they definately need more personel though and maybe to come clean with certain members of the military before someone asks about why they don't already have naquadah usage in their ships!

Review:
Great story only lacking in updates. Its July now so I hope more will be coming. This is too good a story to allow it to fade away. Thanks for sharing.

I just decided to look up the "Ship of the Line" challenge responses, and I found this one. I gotta say, it's amazing. I'm not a major BSG fan, but I decided to try it because I know the show well enough I assumed I'd be able to at least mostly follow what was going on. As it turns out, you wrote it beautifully so that I really only needed to use Wikipedia once or twice to verify that I was remembering characters correctly.

I love how you made Xander not uber, just grown up and with a valuable, but still totally within human norm, set of skills. I love how you explained why Cordelia and Xander were able to basically rewrite reality, and your way of having Janus notice *because* of it rather than having him watching regardless was a nice touch.

I also how you did the tech. I vaguely remember BSG being, as you've described, fairly low-tech high tech. I love that you've differentiated that it's fundamentally different from just about *all* the technologically advanced races in the Stargate universe. That them showing up is a boost in Earth's defense, but not an automatic overkill "win" button, makes the fic fun to read and feel balanced.

Overall, amazing job, and I look forward to reading more!

Just re-read the last few chapters of this. Still really liking this story; the newer stuff with the Brits coming in and more eyes on the Cylon group is very interesting and I'm looking forward to where you take it. Also interested in long term consequences- Kinsey mentioned here that most nations have restarted their alien hunting teams, so, I don't see a ha'tak or 30 showing up in orbit getting past anybody this time so the US might have to come clean a lot earlier just so the international community doesn't embargo them to all hell in order to get the gate from their control. Very happy to see Cam show up as well, here. I wouldn't mind seeing him interact with Helo in the future; Xander could use a male friend similar to his age. My only real complaint about this is how little of Xander we're seeing in Helo. I get why that is the way you set it up earlier in the story, but, I'd hope that more of Xander's carefree attitude and such would leak through over time. Anyways, hope to see you update this before too long

Review of chapter "Interlude the second: In other news" from Kethric
Review:
Okay, look. You've got a decent story, with a different plot than most, and the characterizations are fine. But you've got some serious flaws going on. Cheese and crackers, Batman! I think that every time you used the words then and than, woman and women, breath and breathe, ridicules and ridiculous, (and I'm deliberately ignoring any misuse of there, their, they're and your/you're) you use the wrong one! Spell check is not your friend, because yes, those words are spelled correctly, but they're definitely not used correctly. I may not speak for everyone, but every time I have to reread a sentence because it doesn't make sense as a result of the incorrect word being used, it robs me of some enjoyment of the story. I like where it's headed, and I like the potential to be great, but the simple mistakes are brutal, just by sheer volume.

If you're not using a beta, you should find one you feel like you can rely on and be willing to listen to in order to improve the story. If you *are* using a beta, well, that beta seriously needs to brush up on grammar and spelling.

I've been re-reading your story and I thought of how Ronald D. Moore could have got the idea for his version of Battlestar Galactica in the SC&TTL universe. When our protagonists got changed or drug through time and space a certain technical adviser got snagged and wound up in contact with Mr. Moore and is working with him as an adviser on the Colonies, the Colonial Fleet, and yes even the Cylons. Now this adviser could be Gaius Baltar, Kara Thrace, Leland Joseph Adama (call him Adams or Addams in the Credits), William Adama (again change last name to Adams or Addams), John Cavil, Leoben Conoy, Saul Tigh, Ellen Tigh, Samuel Anders, Simon O'Neill, Shelly Godfrey, Tory Foster, Cally Henderson-Tyrol, Galen Tyrol, D'Anna Biers, Laura Roslin, or anyone from the series you want to use. I think Gaius Baltar would be the best. He could have even recruited the actors who most resembled the people from his past.
