Your story still has my attention. I'm curious about who the two mentioned are that are greatly changed, but suspect it's Cordy and Xander. If this is the case, the mayor isn't the only one who will be upset by changes, the PTB who has plans for her might be also. If it's Willow and Oz (less likely pair) then goes into dark areas that wouldn't interest me as much.

Not bad, bot bad at all, good choices for the group, other than Buffy obviously, and after this they'll all be on another level from the Slayer, more than able to take care of themselves.

The idea seems okay, but there's a major continuity error. The gang did not know Oz at this time, and Oz first saw Willow the night of Halloween, or at least first took notice of her that night. Also, the interaction between Xander and Cordelia seems to be far more inspired by what it is like in later episodes that what it was at this point in time.

I think you are missing what I said in the notes, this takes place in season 3 with the events of Halloween not happening in season 2 due to Ethan been delayed from coming to Sunnydale, as for Xander and Cordelia they have been dating a year by this point which it states in this chapter but have not sorted out where they stand relationship wise. (razial)
