Review of chapter "Fallout: Scoobies" from KrisB
Review:
I was just re-reading the old SOL fics. I hope that RL is treating you better. It sounded like you had a few chapters done until life hit.

I got to tell you this is one of my favorite SOL fics. I love the utter curb stomp. Now, you need to try to expand your humor to some flunkies in SGC and IWC reading off the debrief reports to Gen Hammond and Travers.

Travers will be mixed. On one side he will utterly love that all the demons are gone. On the other hand, all their orgs power just went up in smoke as well. No need for the governments to support them if all of the demons actually were killed off.

I want a debrief from the IWC end on both peaceful demons and hybrids and their new policies concerning each. I actually could predict some sort of genetic amendment to the BoR sort of a like a demons, aliens, mutants, and magic users have equal rights under the law sort of thing. Most of the remaining demons are no more difficult to manage than any given group of humans.

Angel I want dusted. Why? Because it's not just a matter of a soul, he would have been a reinfection vector for vamps.

I want to see how scrabbled that Willow is. I also want to see little scenes from Dawn.

Willow, I can see getting with Oz and ending up playing the group's version of Tony Stark. Buffy would play internal security. I neither are PR girl. I could see them hiring Cordy for that. Dawn was a reporter, but could easily be anything that she wants to be.

I want to see some good conversations between Dawn and Xander. That series has an awesome amount of tech. I'll buy that ANA:Gov wasn't completely downloaded, but a slice. I do think that all three ships would likely have whatever their version of wikipedia and historical files of their development over the course of human history. Bootstrapping, the locals just became rather trival.

I think emotional conflicts and spy plots are the likely conflicts if you ever really get back into this.

Just re-reading the ship of the line stories that I liked. I'd really love a few more chapters on this. I could almost skip the scene with Buffy, Willow, and Giles trying to figure everything out.

I'd like a good 3-5 more chapters. Oh, it makes a fair one shot, but you need to have ANA really explain things to Giles and have it sink in with Buffy and Willow.

I'd also love reading two scenes where the Watcher's Council and the various folks in SGC's chain of command read the debriefs.

I can't wait until it sinks in to them that 3 teenagers hold the key codes to weapons of mass destruction and for either of the two governmental agencies to use their codes that it would take the agreement of that other agency and atleast one of the teens.

If Buffy and Willow have access to their customs, they are weapons of minor destruction by themselves. Dawn went as a reporter civy as I recall. She is the one that is likely to be kidnapped and what not by various government agencies. What minor stun weapons does Xander have access to? Just because he got locked out of the big guns, doesn't mean that he doens't have the same sort of toys as the girls.

I also would love to see the Acsended/PTB reaction to all this. If the PTB were old ones, they are gone. Hell, if the PTB were acsended, and were meddling locally, they might have been removed as well. I would love to read that the Acsended have no idea how to handle this event and are abit miffed at ANA:Governance thoughts that they are spoiled children that don't know how to clean up after themselves. ;)

So Xander got possessed by a supervillain who proceeded to commit massive genocide?

Remember, the Watcher's Council as it exists at that part of the series considers all demons to be active threats, whether they actually are or not. Using their database as a target list would be one of the most massive acts of mass-murder in human history.

You think Angel has guilt issues? If Xander is even half the man Angel was, with those memories he'll eat a gun in short order.

Thanks for the review. Story update might be a little late, family member was in the hospital...so yeah haven't made much progress on the next chapter, it's plotted and 2 sections written (I'm trying for 3 to 5 sections), but might be a bit.

OK, so if I'm understanding this right... the Deterrence Fleet is not an actual physical thing but the energy code for Xander to shift into and use as one would a warship?

Whoa, interesting plot line. I can see why Xander had the reaction that he did at the end.

SGC's going to be very interested in this, and I suspect that life's going to become interesting for the Goauld, the Wraith and especially the Ori.

I haven't been reading your notes. I just really had to make a comment on Angel and getting rid of him is always a plus.

The more that I think about it the more that the PTB were left over Old Ones that decided to play with humanity rather than straight out eat them for whatever reason. The killing them all off works wonders. I'm sorry, but no higher power of good would be using balance demons as messangers to their champions of good. That just smacks of evil, neutral or demonic playing up being the gods in charge role. Thank you for frying them all.

The Order of T would likely still be around if it employeed humans and half demons. You could say that all the ones that we saw were half demons or such. This is if you want or need the organization around for any reason.

On the kids playing Nigel and Ozzie, come on that's the most obvious thing ever. You could throw a screw ball at them and make it "difficult" or "time consuming" to give Xander a human body soon. The easiest fast solution would be if the SGC crew has explored that world where they got made into robot doubles. Sure, it's not the the solution that they'd want, but it could be "quick" and also he could support running several of the bodies as well.

Heck, considering Ted and Warner's robot girls, they could just use "local" talent to build him a starter body.

ANA:Governance has access to very high end replicators. Or atleast the knowledge on how to build them. Worst case would be using Willow to build him a replicator that could fab him the equipment needed to for a body.

I'm actually curious if you'll be doing any pairings. Ford will be showing up and Buffy liked him. She now has the ability to heal him and also likely the skills to know that he needs to be looked into a bit more. Willow will be the interesting one. Will she chose to stick with Xander and try to help him, or will she end up dating Oz while only chatting with Xander every no and then?

I'm some times a fan of Xander/Dawn if done well. If you basically lock him into being energy being boy for the next few months, the girl he spends the most time talking to will likely become his long term interest. Xander has always firmly had Willow in the sister column and it takes something drastic to shake that loose. He likes to try to keep Dawn there, but she is less a sister and more a flirty younger friend.

I think that it will be trival for all the girls to basically be in constant realtime communication with Xander if they chose to and once they figure things out a bit. It's more a matter of which girls want to have him around being their personal arm chair generals. I haven't read the lastest void books. I'm wondering is ANA:Governance's avator enough for its own long term character? Oh, who am I kidding? You'll need some one else up there for Xander to play MST3000 with.

What's Xander's scanning/active hacking radius? He can pretty much observe anything in Sol System, but how far out can he do it? Xander could play Cortena for SGC1!

Just as soon as Xander gets used to being like that and everyone else as well, the tech for him having a real body comes around. Oddly, he can't take it until he has some one that he and ANA:Governance could trust "to man" the Deterrence Fleet.

Hmm, I wonder if they could do a VR dream/mindscape to interact with him. I'm sure Willow and Dawn would love to interact with Xander that way. ;)

I was thinking of if Angel counted as a hybrid. I don't think that he does at all. Why?

Angel is basically a vamp. They may have been able to detect a soul in the vamp, but that doesn't magically make it not a vamp though. Plus the watchers would likely know that it was cursed with a soul and such could be broken and you've got vampires running around all over again.

The easy answer is just to clean him up along with all the other vamps. If you want to be cruel. Just point out that he was just one of those many incidental human causalities amongst taking out the massive amount of vamps. If a single human was killed taking out the vamps, that's enough justification to take Angel out as well as part of the general clean up.

Evil bonus idea. You've got so many "Old Ones" killed. I think that you just killed the PTBs and Whistler. Yea, you. In some stories, the Ascended play as the PTB, but that really doesn't make sense as they are like you said apathetic at best and near criminal in what they left around.

You likely also got alot of the Order of T assassins.

I think that the kids should play the parts of Nigel and Ozzie. They actually don't even need to release much tech. They just release the bare mininum for the gates to work and those memory implants. They could run their own gate network that isn't attached to the Star Gate network at all and is high volume as well. They could actually keep the SGC secret by running their own network as well.
