Despite it being crackety, I think technically its a Marvel crossover, even though the heroes/Buffy-characters don't know it because to them it isn't comic books.
I do like the idea of Marvel characters emerging after Sunnydale sinks and found the slayer-turndowns amusing.

I didn't want to deal with the whole 'why didn't so-and-so help with the demons and vice-versa' so I just pretended that they were separate until after Sunnydale. When you may need them as allies later, you have to be diplomatic; when they are your enemies or potential enemies, you can send in Faith.
