Review of chapter "conflict and threat assessments" from AllegraCousland
Great update! I like the seize the day vs the urge to protect his daughter angle. Very good thought piece. So delighted to see this update and eager to see more!
Comments from author:
Thank you. I think it would be hard for any dad to watch is daughter flirt with a boy or girl. Hershel married off his his youngest when you think about it. :) Thank you for reading!

I'm so proud of Hank. And yeah flirting is fun and relaxing, doesn't matter at what age(talking about me this time). She deserves some fun and Hank deserves some normal concerns.

great update.
Comments from author:
He's doing his best. :) I think flirting is a normal human reaction for some and Buffy would be one of those people who is a casual flirt. Hank, being a dad, must deal with this little quirk. Poor fella.

Thank you!

Review of chapter "conflict and threat assessments" from war
On the bright side they can't do any worse than under Rick's command. I swear how many times can they make the same mistake before a clue by 4 hits them upside the head.

Good story looking forward to your next chapter.
Comments from author:
Alas I have a soft spot for Rick and while his choices are often questionable I still find myself rooting for him. I think Rick and Company's main issue is resources and this compound has them aplenty. :)

Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "early morning summons" from Elissiaro
This. Was. Awesome!
I've never watched walking dead, or read any fanfiction about it before. But I really liked this crossover. :)
Comments from author:
Thank you! It's a double nice compliment since you're not a fan of the Walking Dead fandom. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the recommendation as well!

Emma sounds cute. I like that Hank doesn't like Buffy smiling at the guys it is kind of cute and funny.
Comments from author:
Emma is a nice little mirror for the other characters. :) I think any father would frown upon boys (of any age) possibly flirting with their daughters. Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "the best of plans" from Nightscream
Uh-oh....oh I hope they tell the truth...Buffy has this thing about Dr's telling the truth...
Comments from author:
The truth is coming, but I'm not entirely certain Buffy and Hank will want to hear it. Buffy at this point in the series, this takes place between seasons one and two, doesn't have the same reservations with doctors that later seasons' Buffy did. Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "the best of plans" from punzl
Awww crap. What kind of explanation could any doctor give Buffy that would get her to agree to being a lab rat? Is this what is going to motivate her and Hank into running? And will it just be them, or will the other two follow?
Comments from author:
Any explanation that explain that she was currently humanity's only hope for a cure? Regardless if that's true or not I don't think Buffy would put her own comfort before every other living person. Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "we were wealth" from ShalaDakiri
Just a guess that sample was Buffy's?

Even if the Doc can't reproduce the effects, having someone who is functionally immune would be extremely valuable to the other survivors... assuming there isn't some kind of knee-jerk kill-her-for-the-cure response from other survivors.

Edit: Didn't mean the threat would come from the Doc or even the people in charge. I was thinking more the average-Joe survivors who might be running on fear or desperation.
Comments from author:
She would be the logical guess. ;)

I'm not entirely certain it would make her more valuable to the survivors since everyone is already infected. The pathogen doesn't kill you, it merely reanimates if you die in a way where the brain is still intact and I've not heard of a situation where it was more beneficial to study a deceased animal when trying to understand it's immune system. I think she's safe.

Edit: The average survivor doesn't know they're infected so they wouldn't know Buffy isn't. She's safe from them.

Review of chapter "skinny love" from (Current Donor)SamuraiCatFan
Really enjoying the story.

Amazed at how decent Hank has turned out to be (of course lots of all the small things like ogling and more with secretaries tends to go by the wayside after the zombie apocalypse hits, and of course he has seen proof of Buffy's Slayer abilities).
Comments from author:
Thank you!

The Hank Summers who had actual screen time seemed to care greatly for his daughter and being a poor husband doesn't make someone a poor father. I've always thought the writers gave Hank the shaft to add drama, much the same with Giles in later seasons, and that never sat right with me. *shrugs* I have a soft spot for the guy. Can't help it. :) Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "skinny love" from AllenPitt
So, they've found a place of safety, a well organized group with a base camp and defenses. I can't see Hank & Buffy heading for California unless they have a really good reason, or a method of doing so that isn't too ridiculously dangerous. Maybe some ship that's willing to sale along south past south american then back up? (I can't see the Panama Canal as navigable anymore). This almost reminds me of Zelazny's "Damnation Alley" (needed to get a vaccine to the east coast).
If the phones are all out, maybe a shortwave radio could be used to communicate with Sunnydale, if it's still around?
Comments from author:
It's ridiculously dangerous no matter where they are currently. The world isn't getting any safer unfortunately, but I will say that the living are a larger threat to the base than the dead. I'm not entirely certain a ship would be any safer than a cross country trip. Granted you'd be less likely to be eaten by the Walkers, but you'd be at the mercy of the weather. Weather you'd have no ability to keep track of until it was on top of you.

Shortwave radios would work if you had a way to power them and if, well, you had one. I can't see Joyce or Giles being that good of a doomsday prepper. Thank you for reading!

Well that would be embarrassing. and kind of funny.

Most little kids hear a bad word and decide that's the only word worth repeating in a sentence. It's the damnedest thing really. :) Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "civilian" from Ember
Two great shows and a nice blend. Its different seeing Hank in a story and not in a bad light. I wonder how Joyce and Giles are doing although I think if Spike was around he would protect Joyce because he likes her, totally random comment I know. Will Faith show up, oh and not be all evil? I hope Buffy doesnt have to go through too much angst and look forward to seeing whats next.
Comments from author:
Thank you! I've always felt Hank got the shaft in BtVS (and to some extent Giles) and this is my chance to redeem rather than tear him down further. Spike would probably eat Joyce if he ran into in this series since it takes place long before he developed any respect or attachment to her. Faith won't be showing up since I've no intention to bring in another Slayer, but technically Kendra would be the second Chosen one at the moment. Thank you for reading!

Review of chapter "civilian" from bradsan
Really a good update. I understand why Buffy don't want to go and live inside the base. giving up their weapons is a thing that would go against her nature.

I also would love to see Buffy ending up with Daryl even when she is only sixteen. Angel is way older and life at this stage is short. So you have to take every happiness you can get. Well I wouldn't say no to Angel if he is still alive(undead).

So pairings go for it. Screw age issues when life is on borrowing time as long the partners aren't stuffy and dull why not.

Can't wait for the next update.
Edit: Darn . Oh well I can live with it. Happy with her father being around is good enough for me. A parantly hugh is what she needs most at this age so I won't complain. I'm glad her daddy is there in stead of her mom. He understands more than her mom does anyway. Moms are different in that, don't know why but we are.
Comments from author:
Thank you and it was actually more Hank's decision than Buffy's in regards to not giving up their weapons and such. It was implied when he told them they needed to talk about things before Grayson, Buffy and Emma went in for their examinations.

Sorry, but I just can't see that happening in this series. Buffy might end up with a crush, but I can't see either Daryl or Hank being fine with them getting together. Happiness doesn't have to involve romance as far as I'm concerned. I think Buffy takes happiness from the relationship that's building between her and her father and it's much the same for Hank.

Thank you for reading!

Edit: Sorry to disappoint! Hank is the center of her universe currently which is a nice thing. Terrible situation, but nice thing. Moms tend to push us more than dads (which isn't a bad thing, far from it actually). They know we can do better and dads just let us be as we are - as long as what we are isn't dangerous. ;)
