Unfortunately there are ways of killing without ever touching someone. Even if the touch portion of the curse translates to include anything that he's holding there are still ways around it.

I didn't mean touch as in physically touch. I meant touch as in "You're untouchable, there's nothing I can do to physically affect you" if that makes sense?

As someone who read Lord of Light quite a while ago (I am big fan of Zelazny), this is a very intriguing story. It seems that the Halloween spell had an even bigger impact than just Sunnydale, as regardless of what the Order of Taraka may have been before, it sure seems that Taraka itself is an unbound Rakasha ala LOL, and will certainly have his own axe to grind against not only Sam, but Yama as well (as Yama created the belt that Sam uses to enhance his powers which was key to his binding of the Rakasha).

Suspect that Wilkins will see Yama in particular as a dangerous rival.

Taraka isn't the Lord of Light Taraka, though, but someone entirely different. And, as far as I know, Yama didn't make Sam's belt, although that (probably) won't be relevant to my story.

I hadn't even contemplated the thought of bringing in Wilkins... that's something to think about.

I hope you have something in mind other than just a continuing series of Yama in control and then Ethan in control and now Eyghon in control, 'cuz it's getting old. You need to get back to the plot, move the story along and lose or minimize the 'gimmick'.

Oh, no, I've definitely got plot in the works. For the past few chapters I've just been winding up to it.

And it won't just be a power struggle either.
