Review of chapter "The Assualt on Dol Guldur" from bradsan
Review:
Shame on me. I noticed I didn't review this great story for several chapters.

Again compliment about your writing style. It is really easy to read and never boring. What I like so much is that you have everything covered, fights, laughs, tears, friends, family. You named you'll find it. I like how you give Buffy mortal families/husbands and how she will hopefully end up with a immortal family and hopefully kids.

I'm not a real Scooby fan but I'm glad Willow did come to middle earth and doing so well. It will do Buffy good having somebody around who knows what she is talking about.

You made me laugh several times but with Buffy calling Elrond El dorado I laugh out loud.

Can't wait for the next chapters with more interaction with Legolas and Glorl. She will train Legolas until he drops. He will love it and hate it at the same time. Wonder if she trained Aragorn as well.

Don't wait to long love to read more.

I am so glad I stumbled over this story. Wellwritten with an in depth quality that doesn't confuse, but allows the story to flow and capture. Ty

Thanks, if you're still interested, I'll try to update soon. The muse was singing a different song this fall, but I think she's ready to get back to the LOTRs, at least part time. I miss Middle Earth!

Review:
This is a truly fantastic story that is doing a great job of integrating Buffy charectors into the LOTR story - and will be showing some significant butterflies in terms of the strength and power of the people of Middle Earth when the events of LOTR actually begin. I'll admit you had me worried about how long it would take to get there until you started to jump first decades and then some serious - several thousand years- jumps to Buffy's shenanigans and very cleaver back-story-telling with Faramir. I truly look forward to seeing how different Middle Earth is because of her influence compared to OTL. That the Dwaves and their armies in Moria will be huge, along with potentially butterflying Smaug and therefore altering the history of the Dwarvesr of Erebor... Not to mention the Greenwood remaining so rather than becoming Mirkwood... all really messing with the TL of Bilbo - if he ever becomes a player whatsoever.

I truly look forward to seeing how this all develops- along with of course, the continued development of Buffy and her immortal life.

Me too, and thanks for the review. It's been awhile, but I'm not giving up, have a lot written, and still work on it, but the muse was singing Harry Potter, so I diverted for a while, but I'll update soon. I'm glad you mentioned the Faramir thing, I was worried it wasn't working out. Bilbo I love, so he will make an appearance, but the story will be different, maybe I'll make that a side story. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to review, I'll update when I can.

Did Willow come instead of Saruman? Just wondering. So is Gandalf now off helping Thorin & Bilbo?
Comments from author:
Saruman is there, but I think I said before the battle that he's still with Cirdan learning stuff. I didn't get rid of any wizards. The Blues might make an appearance later too. Gandalf, if he helps Thorin and Bilbo in this story (he probably will) wouldn't be doing that for almost two thousand more years. Its a flashback scenario. Buffy is talking to Faramir when he's fourteen or fifteen so a few years before the events of the Lord of the Rings novels, and she's telling the story of when Sauron first came to Greenwood and how she got rid of him about 1100 of the Third Age. I think I'm leaving it open for the Hobbit, because I really like Bilbo and Thorin and Gandalf, so even though Sauron's gone, I'll probably keep a few spiders lurking about, but Buffy's not letting Greenwoood turn to Mirkwood. Probably more than you wanted to know.

You have woven a tale comparible and worthy of being a classic as the original. Cannot what to see how Legolas grows with Big Sister Buffy's influence. A wisecracking, witty, kick ass and Slayer trained Elf Prince that probably will use Earth slang to butcher Elvish and Common. I love it! Middle Earth and Sauron won't know what it's in for.
Comments from author:
Thank you. What a compliment! I hope you continue to enjoy it. I'm having fun with it too.

Very nice :)
I like how you integrated Willow so far even though I was a little bit unsure about including her, very nice idea.

As for Glorfindel I have a hard time imagining any particular actor except for maybe Chris Hemsworth, who kinda seems to fit regarding the age thing/problem and as "Thor" kinda fits the warrior theme as well (though you probably might want to search for a picture without too much beard, maybe like in his wikipedia-picture). If you are looking for something different it might be helpful to know which drawings of Glorfindel you like.

Anyways, looking forward to more chapters, hopefully soon ;)

Thanks, and I completely agree. He's a good choice, and I like that picture too.

Wow, you've jumped ahead a tiny little bit. Nice flashback. So... Arnor et al lasted longer because of Buffy? Makes sense.
That Sauron was behind everything is plain now, but I thought most people believed him gone for good until the Ring re-surfaced? Or was that just the Men, ie the elves knew better?
Comments from author:
I'm not entirely sure who knew what, but there's no doubt in my mind that Gondor would know that Sauron was alive by the end of the third age. Sharing a border with him, losing territory etc etc, and I think Gandalf knows, and Buffy for sure. She can feel him, knew that he wasn't dead when she went to Gondor for the first time. I think with Buffy in the story they know a lot sooner that he is alive, especially when he shows up in Greenwood. Thanks for all the comments!

I really love this story but I really really wish you would include translations for your elvish What does Caruvan merietya mean? I assume it means something like I will always be there for you or something but I really wish you would let us know. I tried going to my translators but they change things from English to Elvish not the other way around.

Ok so mini rant done. I really love this story and am so glad to see an update. I feel for Buffy finding the bitter taste of immortality when dealing with mortals. I loved the wolves but I am glad they will live to be a good wolf pack. Now I am wondering if a Warg pup can be raised to be good? LOL of course I was wondering that when I saw the white warg in the Hobbit.

I really hope Buffy will be able to save her mom from the Orcs and that she will be there for Legolas's young years so she can be a good older sister to him. (Even if she can only save her life after she is attacked like the twins save their mom and she has to go to Valinor for healing?) hoping hoping. looking forward to the next chapter.
