Review of chapter "Moving" from AngelQueen
Review:
Oh, I love this! Heh, our favorite SG crew may have gone about this all the wrong way, but they're making amends! And I love that Joyce was able to get Willow and Xander under her care. She'll certainly do better than their own parents (though I think a trained monkey could do better, but that's besides the point).

I am worried about Giles, though. Travers has all but ordered him to make sure that Joyce, Dawnie, Xander, and Willow all end up dead so as to better bind Buffy to the cause of fighting evil. Giles is horrified, of course, but he still seems angry at Buffy over Jenny's death. He seems to forget what Jack realized in the graveyard - she's a seventeen-year-old girl, even if she is the Slayer. Hopefully he'll remember how much he does love the girl, and thus we won't have the Cruciamentum mess to deal with. I can't see Joyce taking kindly to it, and they might be able to mount a considerable defense if the SGC is involved.

Again, excellent story! Can't wait to see more of it! :)
Comments from author:
They are after all, not bad people, just people who made mistakes. I do tend to gice the Rosenbergs and Harrises a bad press, but what we see of them in canon isn't very nice either.

As for waht Giels will do, that will be addressed in the next chapter, which is currently less than a page in... Sorry. But neither Joyce nor the SGC would take kindly to the Cruciamentum, no.

I don't know why it took me so long to connect, but I know why Willow's parents reacted so badly to her hacking. One of Ira's Uncles (or some other relationship) was Julius Rosenberg - executed as a spy for the Russians.
Comments from author:
In this case, no. Though I did have a conversation about J&E Rosenberg with one of my beta's at this time, so there was some influence, yes.

I do intend to do something with it at a later time though.

Review:
A very mature way to deal with anger and feelings of betrayal. I'm glad Willow, and the others, have started to forgive Janet. It would be a shame to lose a new family member so soon after finding them :)
And despite a disastrous first showing SG1 can be very useful to the scoobies, once they know what they are really dealing with and they understand their own limitations. I can just see Jack trying to get some officer training for Buffy - just imagine her at Boot camp or OCS!
Comments from author:
It will take time, but they'll get there. And Joyce will do her utmost to give all of them the support they need. And she wants to keep her sister, even if she did mess up. She wasn't too stellar with some of Buffy's shenanigans herself.

The SGC can be very helpful indeed. And I can just see Buffy telling him where to stuff his offer to be come military. I think that she really wouldn't be very good at following orders...

between 'Diner' and 'Shelter' you promoted fraise from Captain to Major. it would be easier to change the Diner ranks i think. Travers is such a weasel, you made him a much better man in 'Lonely Souls" than he ever was, here it looks like he needs to be squashed like a bug. I like what your doing overall, now we need to see if Giles wised up. well done, thanks
Comments from author:
Yes, I know. Janet is supposed to be a Captain until the year 2000 or so, so I shall revise Shelter. Yes, In LS I redeem people. In other stories, not so much.

It would be wise of Giles to wise up. ;-)

What Season/Episode was the twelve stars worth of generals being told off in?
Comments from author:
I fear I can’t remember, I remember a number of scenes where he yells at numerous Generals. It may have been the one where he ‘flipped’. He didn’t use these terms, I made that up. (Couldn’t get that past the censor, I’d say…)

I remember that MASH episode-Hawkeye at his most acerbic.

Great chapter. Love Dawn's conversation with Janet on the way over to Willow's house, and the "conspiracy" to get Willow's "other computers" out of the house.

SG1 and even Selmac (who seems to at least have heard something of the Slayer "legend") got a real lesson about the nightlife.

The fact that Hammond is willing to offer resources certainly is going to give Buffy some real help in dealing with the hijinks of the Initiative. "Farmboy" Riley is completely out of his league in dealing with someone like Jack O'Neill.
Comments from author:
He didn’t quite say it, but his intent was clear. I rather like writing young Dawn. I know many people don’t want her to exist, but I find writing her quite liberating. Glad you liked the subterfuge.
Selmac was unpleasantly reminded of knowledge he had thought fairly legendary. And Yes, Riley, and even Walsh, are going to be very out of their depth…

Finally got caught up on this story to find no new updates. LOL
Really loving that SG1 got their butts handed to them since they couldn't believe what they were told nor what they were seeing and now have to heal and take the time to get forgiveness.
Comments from author:
Glad you like it. Regrettably Buffy feels guilt for those who got injured. But yes, they did deserve a few beatings for skepticism. And they got them…

The former Hawkeye Pierce is working as close to Hell as humanly possible in that world.

Someone needs to let various Regular Army Clowns' ghosts know their fondest wish actually came true. Or slap the back of Anyanka's and Margaret Houlihan's heads.. (Both?)
Comments from author:
Indeed. No, Hawkeye chose to be there, his reasons will be revealed later. They aren’t nice ones.

Another great section, and got to say that the SG team got introduced to a world in a harsh way there, but the lesson will likely stick harder IMO. Glad to see that maybe sometime in the future, Willow might be able to forgive, thugh likely not forget, even as Joyce is letting her know that it might be best to gouge the heck out of whomever she sells her tech stuff.
Comments from author:
Thanks. Buffy underestimated the vampiric numbers. But SG-1 refused to believe her and got what was coming to them.

Joyce will try and guide Willow’s feelings of vengeance down more profitable channels. Hope that works…After all, D”Hoffryn did ask her to become a Vengeance Demon…

Review:
Another great chapter. Joyce seems to have done a good job of defusing a thoroughly angry Buffy and Willow. The latter is definitely demonstrating a vindictive streak we didn't often see in canon - might be a good idea if someone keeps a close eye on her, once she starts to learn magic. Maybe, given that she's improved her relationship with Carter, she might concentrate more on computers in future (or given the hacking scare, perhaps not...)

A hard lesson for SG-1, but at least Jacob has the healing device. Buffy probably isn't finished apologising, either. It wasn't really her fault they were hurt, but she'll still feel guilty. Joyce and Hammond? A potentially interesting pair - he'd be an excellent father-figure for Dawn and Buffy (and their two new foster siblings, for that matter).

Thanks for writing this.
Comments from author:
Thanks. Yup, job of a parent after all. Well, D’Hoffyn did want her, so there has to be something there. And I’m sure that Joyce will do just that. A pity there are no teachers after the whole Angelus mess and the loss of Jenny.

I’m not sure yet where her interests will take her. But hopefully it won’t lead to too many problems…

School of hard knocks. Buffy and Co will miss that healing device, I’m sure. And Buffy has a nasty habit of taking the injuries of those who fight with her as her own fault. Hammond is an excellent father figure for Jack, let alone the four kids. ;-)

I can just see Janet’s reaction though…

Another enjoyable chapter.

However, I'm now concerned that the presence of the sire at the grave of the fledgling was set up by Giles in compliance with Travers' orders. I'm certainly hoping that isn't the case, but.....
Comments from author:
Thanks. Giles is still in Britain at this time, so that worry I can lay to rest. Just a more than averagely involved sire. But for what reason?
