Review of chapter "16" from RedCalypso
Review:
I really like where you're going with this story. I look forward to the team finding Atlantis. There is one jarring note. They keep finding the same kind of tower again and again with no visible door, get inside and set off the self-destruct. At least the last chapter had a dome instead of a tower...
Comments from author:
I accept the flaw. To be honest I suck at
imagining and writing architecture\buildings. :D

Thanks for the review.

Review:
Looks like Faith got a bum deal, but as long as it keeps the Earth safe then she understands and accepts it, because let's face it -- no brainwashed Council prawn (or is that pawn? In this instance I don't see the two as being entirely dissimilar...) would last more than six months on the Hellmouth.

Coming back to Time Lord Giles...the translation of the Alteran database has given the Sunnydalers the means to take humanity _back _ to the stars. It even suggests that the Milky Way Galaxy isn't even our home galaxy! But Earth now has the means to build a fully functional Stargate as well as a warning...

Beware the Ori.

This is also beginning to tie in to the second part of this where the Galactic Empire invades the Milky Way Galaxy. ..looking forward to another good one.
Comments from author:
Yeah, Slayers have a short lifespan in general. Worse on the Hellmouth.

Even without the various Marvel & DC heroes, and Jedi knights, a trio
of Time Lords would be more than enough to send the Goa'uld whimpering
away! :D

The next chapter it begins to tie in even more.

One step closer to another big tech boost; if they can bypass the security system next time, theoky stand a very good chance to pick up a lot of good stuff and data. Goa'uld beware the name of Sunnydale...

“Normally I’d be offended by your insinuation, but he did have several more centuries of experience than myself and of many differing cultures, but,” Giles wriggled his eyebrows suggestively, “let’s just say the Doctor is most definitely in the house.”Jenny’s grin widened. “And in the bedroom. The shower. The dining room. The kitchen….”

And as for that last part...

AAAAAAGH!! Couldn't Jenny the Jedi have fallen for Xander?! I mean, it's well known that Giles hooks up with Joyce Summers. But since there are no Summers family in this fic, maybe one of his fellow Watchers/Time Lords, like Ms Dormer?
Comments from author:
He did seem to be a thorn in the Goa'uld's side, far more than the Tok'Ra in fact.

What can I say? The Doctor's a lover man!

Thanks for the review.

It's nice that someone can take decisive action against Kinsey - the man is a supporating ulcer on the ass of Humanity.
Comments from author:
Yeah, he's a slimy, self-important hypocrite.

Review:
Ah, good. An alliance with the Tok'Ra will benefit the Sunnydale SGC, even with the former's predilection for bending the rules of ethics and their paranoia. I suppose for a bit some development of the relationship web should be in order, eespecially while we're watching the honorable Senator Kinsey get his comeuppance. This will definitely put the group in a positive light with the Air Force SGC and SAC/NORAD. All this, I expect, will pave the way for the lasting relationships between the worlds out there and the Status of Forces Agreement that will enable the proper response when the Galactic Empire comes calling.

This has potential to become something more than what it is now, but there are quite obviously some blanks to fill between now and "The Reality War". Keep it up.
Comments from author:
Yes, you're right in pointing out that the SG1 have a lot of different races to meet as yet.

Thanks for the review.

Okay

One thing -
Yes, Wesley nodded approvingly as he noted the ropey-muscled blond’s intensity and focus. Ivan Drago would be most suitable for training as a Jedi.

If this is the fighter from Rocky IV, I have trouble imagining him as a Jedi. The fact that he is a Force Sensitive explains the power of his punches (He wields a punch yielding over 2200 psi, whereas the average psi for a boxer is 700psi.).
Comments from author:
Two things. I think Drago's unique skills are what make him suitable for training, his dedication,
single-mindedness. And I wanted people who weren't picked from the usual boring just
Anglo characters to be involved. Hence Drago.

Thanks for the review.

Happy to see more. Wonder what Kinsey's spin control will do now? Surely, the Slime has plans against this.
Comments from author:
I'd say he's seriously out-matched....

Nice addition to the story. I definitely like seeing more things happening besides just acquiring more people with 'powers'.

You might want to see if you can get your complementary story 'The Reality War' added to the tthfanfic list of "Related Stories" that appears when one clicks on that tab (between "Statistics" and "Tracking").

EDIT to add that given their abilities with drones and sensors (which you've explicitly pointed out several times already), that they should be able to send incredibly powerful sensor drones to planets BEFORE visiting them. They should have at the least a mapping of the entire planet and any cities before they go through the Stargate to a new world. You seem to have them go in practically blind, not even knowing if there are cities within miles of the gate. That's a tactical move that seems way out of character for Giles and the others. You should have them making greater use of their advanced sensor and power technologies in exploring unvisited worlds. They should also have been dropping off "spy" drones on worlds they've already visited, to keep an eye on what the aliens they've encountered are doing. The drones would also easily detect the presence (or absence) of indigenous populations, whether they're human or not, and their level of technology (e.g. pre-industrial, industrial, high-tech, etc).
Comments from author:
You make a couple of good points, especially as
regards drones and related stories.

Thanks for the review.

You mis spelled the word symbiote; but other than that, don't change a thing.

This is a great chapter

Love the interaction between Giles and Master Bra'tac; they get along beautifully.
Comments from author:
Why wouldn't they? They're a pair of crusty old bastards! :D

Review of chapter "13" from DarthTenebrus
Review:
Looks like one of my assumptions is close to being accurate...it WAS Bra'tac after all, and, though they have not yet encountered the Goa'uld, Giles and the rest of Stargate Command - Sunnydale have basically declared open war against them.

Heck, they might even win! After all, what chance does a parasitic species, millions of years old, have against a group comprised of three Time Lords, a whole gang of Jedi, and various superpower-wielding heroes with firearms and divers and sundry gadgets?!
Comments from author:
What chance would the Goa'uld have against the Doctor on his lonesome? :D

So they are going to send him back out but send him with a controller that can get him back to them..Cool.
Comments from author:
The controller identifies him as an ally should he want to come through
their gate. Otherwise he gets zapped by an automatic energy field
that'll fry him in a nano-second.

Epic is the best way to describe this tale. I love good epics. Wonder what SG1's reaction will be when they meet Giles' group. Fun!
Comments from author:
This one is going to go some chapters - I have another 25 - 30 planned, and I hope
to use some Stargate races and ideas that I feel didn't get the coverage they should
have (Ohnnes & Furlings for example).

Thanks for the review.
