Review of chapter "Chapter Seven." from DieselDriver
Review:
One thing that always bothered me about the munchkins... For being under the "heel" of a "Wicked Witch", they sure looked prosperous and well fed. On the other hand, that's only what we saw in the movie. No telling if Virgin Munchkins were being sacrificed or eaten somewhere out of sight. That said, the movie was amazingly bowdlerized. The books were written just after the turn of the 19/20th centuries and times were different. In the book, the tin woodman used his axe for a LOT more than just chopping wood. The stories were very violent with him chopping off arms and heads of anything or anyone who got in their way as they journeyed to Oz.
Comments from author:
Just as well Faith and Cordy took the Tin Man out!

Never read the books, not so popular over here, but I'm told that they went into stuff that you wouldn't believe.

Cheers,
D.

She's so lucky that she can sleep while taking pain pills. The only ones that effect me are hydrocodone and it keeps me awake. Darvocet is useless. Tylenol is useless. Can't take NSAIDS. Bah! Getting old sucks.

They sure are trigger happy. Why didn't they knock instead of kicking the door in? Must be the drugs.
Comments from author:
It's no fun just knocking, y'gotta kick the door in!

Getting old!? Tell me about it, all the stuff I did in my late teens and early twenties is coming back to haunt me.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Engine failure is not an automatic crash in a helicopter. I had a friend who flew a Hiller for quite awhile as a crop duster and he told me about several dead stick landings he'd done. Change the pitch on the main rotor so that your downward speed spins the rotor up and then change it to high pitch just in time to use the rotor speed to slow the copter to a manageable level before landing. Never even damaged his helicopter.
Comments from author:
Ah but I bet he never tried to fly through a twister.

Yep, part of my chopper training was to be taken up to about 5000 feet and have the pilot 'switch-off' the engine...interesting way of being weightless!

Cheers,
D.

Review:
So, the moral of this tale is: Explosions make everything better!!!... unless you're sitting on it, in which case, that sucks :S.
And yeah, the WW of the W, I like her, I like her a lot, any chance to see her in a sequel?.
Cool fic, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
More Wicked Witch of the West? Hmmm, not sure I could do that. Probably best to leave her where she is, on her sun lounger sipping a long cool drink.

Peace through superior fire power, man.

Cheers,
D.

And it ends with an Oz-Shattering Ka-Boom.

So what about your take on Universal Soldier?
Comments from author:
Universal Soldier, while I loved your version I've no plans of doing one myself...but I am thinking about sending Buffy on a SAS selection course as soon as I've thought of a good reason why she'd go!

Cheers,
D

Review:
It's so *nice* when you get a villain who's read the Evil Overord's Handbook rather than just contributed/confirmed various entries.

The Babylon 5 reference was cool, although when Faith and Cordy first entered the city, I was thinking more classic Who (specifically, a varient on The Happiness Patrol)
Comments from author:
Big Bads who've read the EOH are so much more fun that the run of the mill baddies who haven't!

B5 rocks!!!

Sorry to say I've not watched Dr Who in ages, what did it for me was when a British Army officer saluted without his head gear on (this would NEVER happen) after that I thought if they can't get a little detail like that right what else will they screw up...I think I'm getting hyper critical in my old age.

Cheers,
D.

Review:
My god! Please don't have Our Heroes wake up and find it was all a dream! Yes, I know you can look at the whole frakking movie as Dorthy's dream, but please, you are better than that. Besides, I really liked how Our Heroes bonded through total carnage.

Other than this quibble, I thought it was a great twisted story and I loved it. With all the bloodshed and violence, it was sort of the Wizard of Oz as filmed by an Italian director of Spaghetti Westerns or the guy who did Machete.

The WW of the W had it right. Dead heroes are so much more easy to manipulate for political purposes. And statues are cheap. I loved the B5 references. I totally agree with Cordy about the series, which is mind boggling all by itself. Cordy and Faith make a great pair and I can't wait to read more of their over-the-top adventures. Nice job by the Ozian engineers on the building the containment vessel so the whole Emerald City wasn't vaporized. I just realized we never heard the Wiz say a single thing. Odd.

Still loved the Flying Monkeys and was so glad most of them survived. But you left me wondering at this odd thought. Do marriages in Oz take place between six people of various sexes. Kinky! Lol!
Comments from author:
Sorry it was a dream, as I say I was xover-ing with the movie. Also it allowed me to have the girls shoot just about anyone I liked without any come back for them. Oddly, and I've no idea why, I never had them shoot Dorothy!

About the Wiz not talking...well I didn't think he had anything interesting to say!.

the thing about threes; I was watching the film and looking at what was going on in the back ground and I noticed everyone was walking around in threes. I seem to remember East German Border guards always went around in threes so it'd be harder for one of them to escape.

And the thing about marriages, I thought about that too. I think there must be specialist match-makers to 'marry' up 'threes'. And yes I suppose they would all live together.

The 103rd Guards Flying Monkey Air Assault Div RULES OK!

Faith and Cordy will return in 'The Rogue's March' coming to a fanfic site near you soon!

Cheers,
D.

Review:
Good Lord love a duck! The Emerald City is going to be the Blood Red City when Cordy and Faith are finished. I am so, so, so glad the WW of the W didn't give your homicidal heroes a nuke! There is going to be nothing left of Oz when Faith and Cordy are through, is there? I know that no plan survives contact with the enemy, but did they really at any time have a plan?
Comments from author:
Plan 'A'; Lets shoot everyone who gets in our way then blow everything up!

That sounds like a Faith plan to me!

D.

Weell, they can use the old trick of faking surrender and asking to be taken to their leader, but that would be way too crazy to work xD.
