Review of chapter "The End of the Search...Part 2" from HMaxMarius
*wipes away tear*

Not bad for a character who was supposed to be a one-off of a 'what's Willow doing' chapter =D

So... does Penelope keep the Widows together as a combat team?
Comments from author:
I've had the same thought; Natasha wasn't supposed to be a character at all, and she just took over (which was always kind of her style when you think about it). To be honest, I haven't decided what's going to happen to the Widows now - but I'm sure they'll tell me when they decide.

Well written; the Khan of Clan Wolf has definitely lived up to her reputation, and in the end she died well, in the best traditions of the Clan.

And now Millicent, I guess, should take command of the Black Widows...she may not be of the Clan, but as a Slayer she has more than proved her mettle and her skill as a warrior, and thus I presume she would be welcome in the Clan.

This will be over soon, and the warriors, the soldiers, the operators and the Slayers of the Black Widow Company will be long overdue some rest and respite. As one Marine said at the end of "Full Metal Jacket", "We have nailed our names in the pages of history enough for one day."
Comments from author:
Millicnt certainly has absorbed the lessons of her teachers. Whether she's qualified to command is another question.

Review of chapter "The End of the Search...Part 2" from Harry
Natasha has done her part to aid the battle that has been going on. I also suspected that she would not make it to the end, from what the Mage said, and from what we have seen over time. She has been a GREAT character Rich, and she should get a GREAT salute/ceremony to honor her work and show her the respect that she has earned from all that have had the privilege to work with her.
Comments from author:
Thank you very much. When I first started this, I had some reservations; I wasn't sure that I could handle her well, and I'm still not sure if I have. But it's nice to know that she was appreciated.

Time to see who is the best: Natasha, or this creature of the night. And may the best person win.

Review of chapter "Searchers...Pt.4" from DarthTenebrus
Damn, now what?

Good action sequence here, looks like Natasha has the bad boys on the run.

And you left us guessing as to just what is lurking behind that face on that shadow creature...good scary moment there.

And of course Airwolf is on the scene and looking to kick ass and take names. With a pair of 7.62mm miniguns and a pair of Taim and Bak turbolaser cannons, the Lady might just get the job done; what do you think?

A servant of shadows...striking from shadows...hey, isn't Gojira out operating in that area somewhere?

Someone needs to apprise Comnand of the situation and have a flight of Mark VII Vipers and TIE/d's to incinerate this bastard...

Heh, enjoying this so far. :) "A super-powered helicopter with science-fiction weapons"... do I smell an Airwolf crossover in the making?
Comments from author:
I'm glad you like it.

Harry introduced Airwolf into the Battlefront story, and offered to let me borrow her for a bit; Faith needs transportation. Of course, this is mostly the Widow's story, but the Lady and the Pack will be playing a role.

Looks like things are getting dicey if Faith called O'Neill and requested Airwolf and the Pack! And from the looks of things, that was the RIGHT CALL! *WOLFPACK IN THE HOUSE!!!!!!*

Review of chapter " 2" from DarthTenebrus
Faith and Lydia get to ride on a Mark II Airwolf with a Wolfpack team. Harry should be pleased.

And the children of the Father of Serpents rise. What destruction are they capable of wreaking? And will Homeworld Security Command be up to the challenge, or will planetary evacuation protocols be enacted?

All eyes now turn to the Black Widow as she begins her solo mission, and to the descendent of Dr Indiana Jones, who now is making her way someplace where she can hand off the Staff to others who can better protect it.

Thanks for the review. The major players are all gathering, and the collision should come soon.

Review of chapter "Searchers...Pt. 1" from DarthTenebrus
Aha....good place to end this one. And why, pray tell, should the Great Serpent Ygg be feared any more than the First Evil?

Time to do like Lydia and make with the researchy...

Oh yes, I had nearly forgotten; Happy New Year and Wilkommen auf 2014, mein freund.

Edit: Ran a search on your Great Serpent Ygg, and all I come up with is references to the Great Serpent Niđhöggr and the World Tree Yggdrasil. Might that have been your intent, to hint at Norse mythology?
Comments from author:
Interesting coincidence, if it is one. Ygg is a variant spelling (which I made up) for Yig, the Father of Serpents in Lovecraft's and Howard's stories. He was the patron Deity of the snake-men, and was also worshiped in Stygia under the name of Set. Stygia was an ancestor of ancient Egypt, and according to Howard MAY have been founded by "pre-human" survivors from Lemuria, which sank into the sea in the Great Cataclysm. (and probably-not-so-coincidentally, Williamson's 'Darker than You Think" suggests a link between his witch-men and the founders of Egypt, and Carter's Thongor fights "Dragon Kings" in a pre-cataclysmic Lemuria).

Seriously, I didn't make this stuff up. Other people did, and I just tied it all together.

Review of chapter "Searchers...Pt. 1" from Harry
First off Rich, HAPPY NEW YEAR! With this being probably the last chapter for either Ragnarok or the Widow for the year, thought that I would toss that out. I see trouble brewing at this camp: BIG TROUBLE! If one of the OLD ONES is after the Staff as well as Natasha and her forces, Faith might need some extra backup. I KNOW I have a tendency to push my people, but this one smells like what you said: Major extraction with lots of nasties! Natasha, with her body breaking down (I REMEMBER what that Black Mage said when he brought her back!) may not have much time left for this world. So, with Faith on the way, and lots of nasties coming, more than the usuals, it sounds like its time to place the call to Archangel and call in The Lady, and THE PACK!
Comments from author:
Happy New Year back at you.

The Widow is definitely heading into a crisis situation, although it'll take a couple of chapters to get there.

Review of chapter "Developments" from fanreaderonetwo
Did you do a "double", with the family descended from _both_ Monk Mayfair and Renny Rewick, or was the Mayfair name coincidence with no relation to the other "aide".

"He was a large and unusually strong young man, with the height and oversized extremities that ran in his father's family, and the somewhat simian torso that characterized his mother's."

The "simian torso" sounds more like Monk Mayfair than Renny Renwick.

copied from Wikipedia....

Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Blodgett "Monk" Mayfair, an industrial chemist. Monk got his nickname from his simian build, notably his long arms, and his covering of red hair. He is in a constant state of "friendly feuding" with "Ham" Brooks. This began when his friend taught him some French words to say to an officer and Monk repeated them, not knowing they were a string of insults. The result was a lengthy stay in the guardhouse.

Colonel John "Renny" Renwick, a construction engineer. Renny was a giant of a man, with "fists like buckets of gristle and bone." His favorite pastime was knocking the panels out of heavy wooden doors. He always wore a look of depression, which deepened the happier he grew.
Comments from author:
Well spotted.

Yes, it's a double. You might notice I mentioned that Jimmy's mother had unusually broad shoulders, which she inherited from her grandfather - the female version of the "simian torso" of Monk, and to some extent of Jimmy. And Renny was very tall, as well as having large hands - IOW, oversized extremities.

Well, now we know where this member of the Jones family is at. Time to try and slip into that area and get her out. Of course, that is easier said than done.

Yes, it is; and for more than one rason.
