Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Meneldur
Review:
So, this totally did not go where I expected it would... but it was awesome nonetheless. It's highly amusing, because Willow really wanted something logical, what with the no shortcuts, and yet it still ended up entirely messed up. I do wonder what Merida could teach her that she needs to learn, though...

EDIT: Ah, sorry, my bad. writing reviews at 10 at night is not a good idea. Yeah, it's kind of obvious once you think about it, and Willow does need to learn it. Of course, the question remains whether Merida will allow Willow to learn anything... kudos to Willow for having a translation spell ready, though. If only she had a sleeping spell ready as well.
Comments from author:
Have you seen Brave? Because... well, Willow ought to learn what Merida learned over the course of the movie.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Chikageko
Review:
And here i thought you liked Cordelia...

As for teachers... Have you ever played Warcraft? Jaina Proudmore's teacher Antonidas (a Merlin to her Hermione) died at the hands of the death knight prince Arthas. I'm quite sure he would have worn any body and taught any novice for the chance to go back and help with the mess he left behind.

Edit one: Yeah, ah, I sort of noticed that...Brave. And you know that's completely not what i meant. I was offering someone i thought would have been a good teacher for willow if the faedelia had possessed more than a single brain cell. WC and BTVS magics are similar save for the addiction thing. Only the highelves suffer magic addiction and that's because they've spent the last 10 thousand years with magic saturating their entire country, including air, food and water.
Comments from author:
*coughs* Willow's teacher is currently trying to turn her into a pincushion. And is identified clearly by name and property in the disclaimer.

EDIT: *sighs* Which would defeat the entire point of the story. This isn't going to be "Willow gets trained and goes all supermagical". Not by a long shot. Not at all, actually. It's a morality tale of sorts, and one that Merida is uniquely suited to guide Willow through.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from AllenPitt
Review:
On the positive side, she shot the arrow into the book, not into Willow, so that's good. And what Willow needs to 'learn' is apparently not how to cast hugely powerful spells, what a surprise. Hopefully just one teeny tiny one on language learning. Totally harmless, I'm sure!
I wonder if the "foreign exchange student, it'll be help me learn about foreign cultures!" excuse will work on her parents. Or if they'll even notice the extra redhead.
Meanwhile what's her name will be able to go out and hunt vampires, and feel useful....
Comments from author:
Assuming they can get Merida speaking English. Or Willow speaking GĂ idhlig.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Gideon
Review:
At least arrows should be useful against vampires, right?
Comments from author:
I always wondered why Buffy didn't use them as a primary armament, to be honest. I mean... people still bow hunt. They sell bows in sporting goods stores, as well as arrows. Swords and the like? A bit harder to explain why you're wandering around town with them. And engaging from range would minimize her risk of injury and - more importantly - clothing damage.

Sounds like poor wee Merida wasn't given any warning about where she was going! And that she still doesn't trust witches...Can't wait to see what happens next!

Lol. Well, at least she was a bit smart. Not too specific though, with higher powers, that can really screw with you.
Comments from author:
If she's into gingers, that might be a literal thing for Willow... >.>

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Harry
Review:
LOL! Red, I KNOW you want to get better at Magic, but, sometimes, the long route is the BEST ROUTE! You summoned this, this creature, you have to pay the price. Though, I wouldn't have mind being with Wanda and Zatanna!
Comments from author:
Wanda or Zatanna wouldn't be so bad, but I can see where she'd be weirded out by a version of herself that was some universe's Wanda or Zatanna.
