Review of chapter "Messed Up" from DieselDriver
Review:
I've been wondering awhile what movie or book Hannah is from. Don't remember if you said somewhere along the way but I'd like to look it up.
Thanks
PS: Your stories are pretty cool. This is my second time through and I'm putting off reading some of my updated stories to keep the continuity going here. I'll probably take a break during this one though, really good but I read it recently enough not to lose track.

Good story, creepy enemies, and a well-done introduction of Fu. Though I wonder hy Buffy didn't shoot him in the head a few times before running to Sam. Good to see Hannah again as well.

Shades of Under Siege - "Just a cook"? Though a cook without his tongue. Granted, most of the tasting is done by the nose, still...

Well, yeah, he has Captain Buffy's really short fence fetish. Very interesting.

I think you are right. Pulp fiction can work on more than one level. Note how ERB gave Tarzan a legitimate reason to start out "racist," and then realized he was wrong.

There was a pathetic movie here in the states and a really good mini-series that followed the book very closely out of the BBC but I haven't seen it but once. It's good enough to buy.

Review:
Nice to see that you chose a villain worth the fighting. Though, once he had told Buffy where Sam was, and what was happening, why didn't she try shooting him in the head? Even if he survives, it would have kept him distracted for a long time.

Also, I like this series, but while there are mentions of Will and obviously Giles and Faith, Xander seems strangely absent. He actually designed the bomb that was used, and coordinated the students - if Buffy entered the Army with ROTC, why didn't he try that route? Even if he isn't a mustang, he's in the know, and I am betting Dutch would love another soldier like that.

Can't wait for the next story!
Comments from author:
Because I don't like writing for Xander, and there are more than enough writers out there who do.

Also, why shoot a recurring villain in the head? Especially if the author wants to use them again later. I don't want to have to deal with an undead Fu Manchu. He's enough of a badass without that.

Review:
And the triffids book "Day of the Triffids" was so much better than the movie that it just epitomized the whole "book better than movie" stereotype.

I can think of only two video versions that come close to being as good as the books and that is the "Shogun" starring Richard Chamberlain and Toshiro Mifune and the 5 part miniseries "Pride and Prejudice" starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.

I'm looking forward to see how Buffy gets away from the Triffids.

I am enjoying this as Buffy grows as a person and an operative
I did expect Fu to know about the supernatural though

A very fun read, and a nice intro of a suprise master villain on not a little repute!
Fine, I've been known to use word-a-day calendars too. Sue me.
Thanks for writing. :)

I seriously love all of Buffy and friends' adventures in, out of, and around the military! :) Nice installment, and I can't wait for Fu Manchu's return. The triffids were a hilarious yet alarming touch.

Also, what I found hilarious the "the shrubbery of doom draws nigh" exchange was that Sam thought the weird part was the "nigh" bit and not, say, the bit complaining about doomy shrubs. To sum this thought up, good work on the Buffy lingo (as usual).
