Review of chapter "Not Fine" from bradsan
I really thought I reviewed this one already. I saw I didn't.
Well what's there to forgive. Buffy didn't do anything wrong. There were probably one or two occasions where Buffy, maybe, could have killed Angelus. And I really mean maybe.

Angelus had all of Angels memories so how in gods name could she have killed him. He knows all her tricks, how she fights, everything and the chances she could have got were to soon after everything what happened. She still loved Angel and had difficulty understanding that he was gone, which should be normal. Being the Slayer doesn't mean you have a switch build inside that turns her feelings of right away. She is a human being.

Now Xander, her mom now those two did something wrong. Xander by lying and always putting Angel down, Buffy never did that to any of his girlfriends. And her mom well putting her away in LA, throwing her out, ultimatums.

So nothing to forgive for Buffy didn't do anything wrong. She didn't had anywhere to go. Her mom threw her out. The police tried to frame her for murder and knew all of her friend. She just sent her boyfriend to hell. So running away was probably the best thing she could do. because sunnydales cops wouldn't let her go even with the statement her friends made. Stein hated Buffy so he would do everything to keep her in jail.

Very good story and great writing.

Just checking on my old stories, and saw your review and thought I'd reply after all this time.

I agree with you that Buffy really didn't do anything wrong. Should she maybe have come to the realization that Angelus needed to be stopped sooner? Yeah, probably, but no one wants to believe the people that love are evil or gone so she deserve leeway in that.

Too true. I think Xander is biased towards anyone invovled with Buffy (except Riley cuz he was 'normal') because a part of him will always love Buffy. Joyce, she wasn't a bad mom per say, but when the tough choices had to be made, Joyce chose the easiest instead of toughing it through to be what buffy needed.

Yeah, the police would have still brought her in. With the mayor in charge, Stein having it in for, the Slayer would have been charged and 'disappeared' if she had stuck around at all. Leaving was the best choice for Buffy.

Thank you so much. :D

I love stories where Buffy stands up to the Scoobies. I especially love that you had Giles support her. :)

Well you certainly chose a time when Buffy was at her most vulnerable :( I would have thought that the zombie attack would have shown Buffy she was still needed but you covered this adequately by mentioning Faith. This is probably one of the few ways Faith could get a more hostile reception than she did in canon! It might be interesting to explore that at some stage.
Comments from author:
I just knew I couldn't have Buffy leave without having mention Faith cuz you're right, Buffy leaving the hellmouth unprotected is just not her. I might get around to writing a sequel, because this idea just won't leave me alone. :D

This is the same Giles who hated her for not dealing with Angelus earlier? Applied the Cruciamentum? Left her to her own devices on numerous occasions when she needed help? Berated her for not doing her duty? Betrayed her on several occasions? Why does he get to be the 'good guy' when all the others get bashed? Equal opportunity bashing, I say!

Other than that, an interesting tale.

Thanks for writing

I know, I was going to really, but I figured I was going to put him through the ringing in my other fic, so I had to but him some slack in this one. Thank you! :D

This has great potential Buffy as lead in LA. Faith gets to be THE Slayer on the hellmouth, Buffy gets to help the helpless without the extra pressure that Xander Willow and Joyce throws her way.

I've always looked at the Buffy/Xander/Willow friendship as comrades in arms bonded in battle but when it comes to their personal lives have zero in common and the friendship shouldn't work at all. Every time personal issues come between them there is a crisis and personal issues get shoved to the side.

If you explore this as a longer story and Buffy builds her own in group in LA it shouldn't be a rewrite of Angel where she gets Wesley Gunn Cordelia and Lorne in her team. Maybe Kate Lockley could be a nice character to explore as a team mate.

Best of luck and I hope to see more.
Comments from author:
That's my thoughts. If I take this further, it would be Buffy in LA and taking charge. While certain characters from Angels may show up, I agree. It shouldn't be a rewrite of Angel with Buffy in his place, that's just no fun.

Exactly my thought on Buffy and co. They are good together in a fight or a crisis, but when it comes to personal lives, they clash and end up hurting each other more than help then at the end they kind just sweep it under the rug with 'oh, the Big Bad ended, we should just get over our issues' kind of thing. I didn't like.

If my muse is willing, there'll be more of this come.

I'm confused. I will admit I haven't read or watched Berserk, so maybe I missed the obvious... but how is this a crossover? You said the song was by Seether; I got that. And there was plenty of "Dead Man's Party." Doyle I even understood, although he's from Angel. What makes this a Berserk crossover..?
Comments from author:
I messed up on the Story Details. It automatically is set for Berserk, so I went a changed it. Sorry. :P

Just the ending I was hoping for - both for 'Dead Man's Party' and for your ficlet. Buffy telling them off and Doyle coming along to help heal her wounded heart and help her with the slaying. So does this mean Angel isn't coming back from hell?

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it. I just had the urge to right and end like that. I don't know, maybe, maybe not. If I take this further and into a longer story, then we'll both get that answer. Thanks! :D
