Review of chapter "Ties That Bind And Silly Watchers" from Selonianth
Review:
I wonder how magically enforced that vow is, and what it'll do if Faith accidentally kills Lynch again.

.
You indicated inspiration from author DreamSmith.

Since you recommended 'checking his work' readers should be warned that DreamSmith has left a large percentage of stories incomplete and/or abandoned over the years, INCLUDING "Heroes and Villains" which as of today was last updated April 2011.

While some of DreamSmith's stories start out as very good and well written, with some even excellent, it is frustrating that far too many stories and series are left incomplete.

(from SixPerfections A/N Chapter 1)
"A/N: I have to credit my inspiration for this story from the fic Heroes and Villains by DreamSmith over on tthfanfic dot org. If you're not familiar with the author I recommend checking his work because he has done some fantastic Fuffy work along with other things. Heroes and Villains in particular is fun to read."
Comments from author:
Yeah unfinished stories are really frustrating. But I really like his writing and for some reason Heroes and Villains just is one of my favorites. Not sure I can explain why but its one of my all time favorite lighthearted fics even unfinished. Go figure =)

You'll see a few more similarities between this story and that. Just a couple of concepts were too cool and I wanted to play with them as well. I felt I needed to credit that inspiration since a few things will be very similar though most of the story will be very different.

Review:
I like how you're blending the x gene with the slayer though it's unclear if there is a mystical component and Buffy is just denying the mystical aspect.
I'm looking forward to reading how Faith as her shield works out.
Comments from author:
Yeah.. Buffy is in denial about having this great mystical destiny. In the show she kinda had to accept it because how else do you explain her new powers? Here she can lie to herself and try to say it's all just her mutation. So yes there is a mystical component. The slayer dreams, the instincts to kill vampires and demons, how she can 'sense' them, and a portion of her strength is all mystical. Plus the whole destiny thing.

Review:
great chapter ...so how much stronger and faster will she be glory strong and fast or a little less
Comments from author:
IDK how much stronger.. you know how strong and tough and fast the Slayer is varies all over the place from episode to episode. There really is no scale to measure against and compare. Glory was only stronger relative to Buffy.. But was she Hulk strong? Thor strong? Who the heck knows.

In 'relative' terms Buffy is going to be stronger than in the show.. for example in the show she gets into slugging matches with regular vamps and they can still be dangerous. Here they are still dangerous but she absolutely demolishes regular vamps (makes sense for the 'one girl in all the world' to be able to do that). Which is where another twist to my story comes in.. master vampires have a real hard on for turning people with 'special abilities' (X-Gene). So most truly badass vamps will have 'powers' of their own and thus are super dangerous to the Slayer.

a mystical game of hot potato -- Awesome analogy.

I'm usually not a fan of elaborate ceremonies like that in fanfic, but yours was really well written.

Good Job.
Comments from author:
Thanks :). Superpower hot potato that's the Slayer for ya =D

Glad you liked it.

Review:
Interesting.

Giles, as an Englishman, should be thinking: ...she had no idea who Winston Churchill (or Queen Elizabeth) was. At least you remembered that he lives in a flat.

I also don't think that Buffy would tell Giles what she really thought of Faith like that. Especially not on short acquaintance of both. She might be thinking that, but she would say something more polite.
Comments from author:
I thought about saying someone English but I was trying to think of the most obvious person she would know.. other than the big JC old GW or Lincoln seemed best.

With that surname Faith's mother has to be Mystique and I really doubt that the watchers asked Raven if her daughter may become a Slayer's Shield.
Comments from author:
There's a whole backstory to that that won't be revealed for a while. Let's just say Faith's life before the present time was a lot more interesting than the Buffters. Just gotta wait and see. :)

Review:
love this story ...so does buffy have any other powers from her mutant part
Comments from author:
Nope Buffy is just what she is.. super strong, super fast, coordination and reflexes off the chart, prophetic dreams, supernatural 'radar', freaky weapons expertise, fast healing and (minor spoiler) in my story she'll have some immunity to mental powers. If anything is different is I think for this story she will be faster/stronger/more badass than the show. But yeah even with regular Slayer powers Buffy's a total boss.. her powers are pretty sweet :)

This *could* be interesting...

I think it is. Gonna do the whole "Master" storyline of season 1 before moving more into the Marvel/X-Men universe. Hope you keep reading :)
