Review of chapter "Chapter Eleven." from Xovervore
Review:
Quote: “Pacifist swine,” Kennedy muttered darkly at Cavor, “it's people like you who start wars!”
I second her sentiments. Quite often one has characters in movies or TV shows who (in all seriousness) provide a pathetic argument that only leads to badness due to them misrepresenting the situation, so provoking the very situation they allege they are opposed to - like Cavor here (of course, in your story, this is the point - that Cavor is an idiot. Carrington in 'The Thing from Another World' was a similar virtually misanthropic character).

Imagine if they can recreate the gravitic drive. Then would have 'Buffy in Spaaaaccce'! :-) She could be like Spaceman Spiff from Calvin and Hobbes.
Comments from author:
'I you want peace, prepare for war!' As the Romans used to say.

No one starts a war they think they're going to lose.

I shall look-up 'spaceman Spiff' right now as its a character I'm not familiar with.

Cheers,
D.

Dang D...Had me getting PO'd at Calvers, laughing my rear off at Wills and Ken and then wondering if they could get a new one built from what was left behind.
Can't wait for your next one.
Comments from author:

Review:
I thank you for making me aware of this film. There was also a 2010 version, apparently, but no export is available for the U.S. I'll have to see if I can find it online somewhere. But I ordered the 1964 version from Netflix and it was good.

I actually liked Cavor *until* he got to the moon and lost his head assuming that the "Selenites" would be friendly - *then* I wanted throw him out the airlock. I can tell he's not a historian - when a more advanced culture meets a less advanced culture, it tends to go rather badly for the less advanced one...
Comments from author:
A 2010 version!? I can't say I've even heard of that one. One day I'm going to read the original novel.

I don't know how he comes over in the book, but Caval sounded like the usual scientist character you see in movies and TV who is convinced that the only 'bad guys' around are the Earth people. It was one of the few things that annoyed me in Stargate the way Danial always just assumed that everything could be settled by 'talking'.

Cheers,
D.

Weell, nothing like the waiting game to enjoy Life =D!!.
Too bad about the capsule, and I hope Willow can enlist the help of a few people to help her in the Gravitic engine project. I mean, Cavor left behind prototypes, plans, and Willow ran the sims in the laptop, right :S??.

Cool fic, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
This is a very good point, however Willow might have other things on her mind in nine months time!

Cheers,

Pretty interesting story. I thought Cavor was annoying, but he had to be for the story.

Looking forward to the next story.
Comments from author:
Yep I always thought Cavor was annoying even in the original!

More of this series in the New Year.

D.

Good ending - plenty of room for the Selenites to launch their attack on the evil Terrans!
Comments from author:
Thank-you, there is a sort of part two to this and moon-bugs will be the least of peoples worries!

In fact there's a part three (again 'sort of'), there do seem to be a lot of aliens this season!

Cheers,
D.

Review:
In one hand, we got to understad that weell, different cultures mean having different customs, and Cavor has a measure of reason. Buuut in the other hand, having two low psychics feeling that the situation with our dear Selenites neighbours is evily bad, is proof enought to pull out the Raid and stomp Da Bugs!!!.
Because the only good bug is a dead bug!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mvmHwCxw5A

Cool chapter, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
As you will see this question is talked about in chapter 11...just before our heroes decide to kill them all!!!!

Erhm, I think Willow is gonna have to ask for help to a looot of moon goddesses, I mean there's Selene, Pasiphae, the Leukippides, Eileithyia, Hekate, Artemis, Bendis & Hera.
And yeah, this First Contact situation is a totaal SNAFU xD.

Cool chapter, see ya!!!.

Review:
Kennedy is the cautious one now. Go check on Willow but the discovery diverts their attention.

Do we have a "What can possibly go wrong" moment.

On a side issue. Have you seen the video clip on youtube about Moon Machines, The Space Suit?
During a test, there's a bit towards the end about what happens where someone is exposed to a vacuum.
Comments from author:
'Kennedy is the cautious one now.' I think it swings back and forth depending on the situation.

You Tube, no I've not mainly because I have issues with my present computer and watching You-Tube vids, sometimes they work sometimes they don't!

Cheers,
D.

By the way, is Cavor a worshiper of Murphy??.
