Review of chapter "VI and Epilogue" from CrystalBlaze
Review:
I'll admit, the problem of Susan (of Gallifrey) is much complicated by the steps taken toward the end of the Time War. But the solution, my God!!

It certainly explains why Aslan isn't a tame lion, but was content in the face of the stone table. Deep Magics from before the beginning, in deed.
Comments from author:
If you take the thing about Jack becoming a physical constant seriously, there has to be room for him in the fundamental structure / nature of the universe, which implies he's somehow going to extend backwards and forward in time, from the beginning to the end of the universe. It will probably do your head in if you think about it too hard - I personally prefer to go with "wibbley-wobbley timey-wimey" and leave it at that!

Review of chapter "VI and Epilogue" from Leeef
Review:
Hmmm interesting.... I sure didn't see that coming.

Can you point me to your sources for researching the years you mentioned? I'm trying to write a story set in the same time period and am a little at a loss on where to start.
Comments from author:
The best one is unfortunately not readily available - it's a 1970s book called "The What It Cost The Day Before Yesterday Book" by Dr. Harold Priestly, basically a list of prices for various common items in different eras. There are some minor problems with it - most notably, it gives prices in modern decimal currency, not pounds, shillings, and pence , but if you grew up with the old currency like me it's easy enough to do the conversion - but it's usually a good starting point. Wikipedia and other web sites confirmed things like the smoking age of 16 in 1943 - it was raised to 18 in (I think) the seventies - the meat ration details, etc. If you look for web sites related to a TV series called The 1940s House that will give you a lot more information

Review of chapter "VI and Epilogue" from Callista
Review:
Oh, wow, did not expect that... Thank you for writing!
Comments from author:
It seems to have taken most people by surprise - including me, I wasn't sure how Jack fitted into Narnia until very late in the story.

That certainly snuck up on me and left me gaping. Well done.
I seem to have a soft spot for the redeeming of poor Susan, and how badly she was just ignored and thrown away at the end of the books.
Comments from author:
Agree entirely, it was a real shame. Glad you liked the ending, I knew that some people would guess the Susan/Susan connection but hopefully the Pevensie part coming before Dr Who S1 was more of a surprise.

Review:
I have really enjoyed this work. Wheels within wheels, just wow!
Comments from author:
Many thanks - it never made a lot of sense to me that the Time Lord scheme with the Master would be their only plan for their culture's survival, this is possibly a little too unlikely to work but I had a lot of fun with it anyway.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! I can't even describe what I'm feeling right now. OH MY GOD! That was amazing! And some freakin' twist! Good job, that was really perfect!
Comments from author:
Thanks - it sort of crept up on me a bit, at least the Captain Jack part, but once I'd thought of it I had to use it. Glad you liked it!

Review of chapter "VI and Epilogue" from CPTSkip
Review:
While your ending was totally unexpected by me, I still found it quite satisfying. Well done.

It is funny but the Queen Susan and Doctor's granddaughter Susan link never crossed my mind, until now. But now it seems perfect.
Comments from author:
It was the starting point, and I wrote the first couple of chapters thinking Susan P had _previously_ been the Doctor's granddaughter, but it worked much better the other way.

You know I CAN think of people less suited to promotion to godhood than Cap'n Jack (Ivan Vorpatril, to name one entirely at random) but not many...
Comments from author:
Well, give Ivan a few BILLION years to grow up a bit and even he might be a bit more sensible!

The all-time worse to promote to godhood would have to be Miles, of course...

Review of chapter "VI and Epilogue" from Turak
Review:
Lovely story, I kinda want to see the reunion between Susan and her family, but the story ends well where it does. Perhaps in a tiny extra bit?
Comments from author:
Well, they're all in heaven now so you have to assume that it goes perfectly. Really can't see a lot of point writing it with that as an initial premise!

This was brilliant. Seriously brilliant. And the coda... I'm still wobble wobbling. I will definitely be re-reading and give better feedback.
Comments from author:
Thank you, had some fun with that one but didn't realise it was going to happen until late in writing the previous chapter.

Kill you? Don't be silly. I'll applaud you instead. This was great.
Comments from author:
Thanks - it's a bit heretical for the Narnia purists but I had fun with it.

Review:
I love it! All those billions of years of life, and it was just enough life experience for Jack to become cub Aslan! What a glorious connection and full circle. :)

Plus, I'm so very happy to know how Susan the grand-daughter came to be, and whatever happened to Susan Pevensie in the long term.
Comments from author:
Well, it's as good an explanation as any - a bit blasphemous since Aslan is supposed to be Jesus (I think - I'm either an atheist with agnostic leanings or an agnostic with atheist leanings, so not really qualified to say definitively) but it worked for me.
