Review of chapter "Abbey & Jed have a talk" from Grovtech
Review:
That was so well done and is exactly the kind of thing Jed would tell Abby. It's just so in character as well as being a fav story of mine too! Good Stuff!
Grover
Comments from author:
Thank you very much. I thought about doing this a couple of different ways - at one point I thought about having Charlie get Buffy to autograph the book - but in the end I think Jed was a much better choice. I'm glad you liked it.

Review of chapter "Abbey & Jed have a talk" from ChefJackButler
Review:
Well, damn, man. You're making me betray my tough guy exterior by getting all nostalgic about "Lambert the Sheepish Lion." I loved that story as a kid and still love it now.

And that was a brilliant analogy.

By the way. Its on YouTube
Comments from author:
So do I. It's a largely forgotten classic these days, but it's still a classic.

Thanks for the review.

Review of chapter "Abbey & Jed have a talk" from ShalaDakiri
Review:
I remember that story. We had a video that paired Lambert with Mickey and the Beanstock and that guy that always narrated the old Disney films.
Comments from author:
Lambert was one of my favorites when I was a kid. The poor guy is a classic misfit, who just can't seem to fit in or catch a break - and then when things fall apart he suddenly rises to the occasion and saves everything - just like the Scoobies.

Thanks for reviewing.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & a Philosophical Discussion" from Grovtech
Review:
I'm very much enjoying this story. Buffy's command presence was put to wonderful. As always her timing was perfect! You know she is arguably the most powerful woman on the planet from certain points of view.

Comments from author:
In the supernatural world, she might be; and if she isn't, then it's probably Wilow. In the self-styled "real" world ? Well, she doesn't know it yet, but it just might be CJ Cregg (and now that I say that, I'm wondering if that might be the subject of another story).

I'm glad you're enjoying this, and thanks for commenting.

Review:
Yeah, you have to take us into that meeting... and then show the staff react to it. You have to.

If I can come up with a story, I will.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & a Philosophical Discussion" from KzintiKiller
Review:
Solid gold. Amy Gardner and Mary Marsh were two of the most singularly annoying characters in TWW. Seeing The Slayer put them both in their place was....precious. ;-) Don't suppose you'd give us Jed and Buffy, would you? Or maybe Toby and Giles?

Well done!
Comments from author:
I agree about both Mary and Amy. Mary was the harder to write, both because the show gave me less to work with and because I have a harder time getting inside her head. The trick is remembering that both of them are absolutely convinced that they're right, and they resent that the fact that others don't agree with them.

As for what comes next, that depends on what my subconscious comes up with; and I can't even guess what that will be.

I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for reviewing.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & the Uninvited Guest, and others" from RevDorothyL
Review:
I do hope you'll be able to continue this! It's fascinating, often amusing, and rings very true to the characters on the crossover shows.
Comments from author:
Stuff pops into my head, and sometimes I can knock it into some kind of shape and post it. But I hope to continue as ideas occur to me. I'm glad you're amused, and that you think the characters ring true.

Thank you for your comments.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & the Unexpected Encounter" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Love the "N.C.I.S." crossover with Caitlin Todd (prior to joining NCIS, of course) as part of C.J.'s secret service detail . . . especially since actor Mark Harmon (Gibbs on "N.C.I.S.") played such a memorable (if distressingly short-lived) secret service agent who had a romantic interest in C.J. back in the day. :)
Comments from author:
It was too good an opportunity to pass up. And it seems to me that if anybody really knows what goes on behind closed doors in Washington, it would be the Secret Service.

It would have been interesting if Agent Donovan had lived; he had a refreshingly different attitude from the other characters and some great lines ("You guys have your own gym ?" "We run alongside moving cars, what do you think ?"). But the producers/writers had a different kind of story that they wanted to tell, and I think (I'm not sure) that Mark Harmon got his NCIS gig at about that time.

Thanks for reviewing.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & the SGC...CJ learns about Aliens" from RevDorothyL
Review:
Love Hammond's last line in this chapter!
Comments from author:
Thank you, and thanks for reviewing. The Hammond/O'Neill relationship is an interesting one; Jack is too good a leader to lose, but the crap he pulls would get anyone else fired in about a week.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & the Uninvited Guest, and others" from ShyBob
Review:
l was hoping it was Vi who saved the day *sigh* but good show, nonetheless. Plus mad props for Dawn earning money while saving the world, without looking like a scrounge :) As a prof once said, "If you serve pizza, grad students will come." (Field of Dreams ripoff)
Comments from author:
It just seemed to make sense that the girls would need a source of ready cash. Also it seems to me that working as caterers in Washington would be a good way to pick up information without being noticed.

Thank you for reviewing.

Review of chapter "CJ Cregg & the Uninvited Guest, and others" from Starfox
Review:
Ouch. Slayers in the SGC? That's close to "under government control", and trying to make them keep secrets from the rest of the slayers... not to mention how close the NID and their backers would get.
Comments from author:
Those are fair points.

OTOH; in the later seasons, the SGC was a multinational operation; there were Russians, Rodney McKay(Canadian), Carson Beckett (Scottish), and presumably others that we didn't see. So theoretically, Slayers might be considered as a separate "nationity", or as an ally like the Free Jaffa. They could operate in their own teams, with their rights and duties defined by a contract - which could even be magically binding. Alternately, they might agree to work with Hammond or O'Neill, but not for "the government".

As for the NID, they had a lot less power after President Hayes (Bartlet's successor in these stories) fired Kinsey.

Thanks for reviewing.

Review:
An impressive start for CJ's Chief of Staff scheming.
Comments from author:
Thank you very much.

CJ was always quick on her feet, probably the result of all those years dealing with the press.
