Review:
Actually, Butterbeer is mildly alcoholic, but still contains alcohol. Specifically mentioned in one of the later books.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from (Past Donor)IntoOblivion
Review:
I have such a strong affection towards this fic, it ultimately being the reason I've ended up reading through this entire series. I think I mentioned previously that I like your slow forming relationships, and nowhere is this more evident than the connection you create between Ginny and Buffy. So many times in fic where straight (as far as we know from cannon) characters end up falling for someone of their own sex its too rushed, not taking into account that jump that has to be made to recognise that the affection they are feeling is more than just friendship and this rushed effect always seems even more ooc when done in crossovers as the characters don't even know each other before the fic (most of the femslash I read is straight fiction not cross due to this). So... um that rant about how its done wrong is (obviously) completely unrelated to this as you've wonderfully written the slow build in intimacy to make it seem real (and Buffys obliviousness to the concept that there may be something more is ace).

The other thing I specifically like about this fic is your well-planned description of how the council is set up post-chosen, again this is the most believable 'what happened to all those slayers afterwards' fics I have read. I like the interactions between the new slayers and watchers and the whole idea of the different bases and old-school slayers traveling about just makes sense. Your method of explaining the wizarding worlds general lack of knowledge of slayers and outside magic makes sense, often the 'willow's a wiccan and its not their magic' explanation sounds forced as there's not much explained about it. Knowing that the Ministry of Magic is monitoring and has connections with many such groups makes it more understandable.

After receiving your review reply I'm even more astounded by your achievement at keeping all the complex arcs (and arcs within the arcs) of this story under control. As I said its a unique build to a series, where most of them are pretty linear at least in that we follow one character through a storyline. Having it split as it is makes it easier, I think, to believe the whole. As one big cross there would be such a mix of worlds that it (for me at least) would be hard to keep straight who belongs where when. By introducing each world slowly in their own sub stories the concept of all these crosses coming together just makes more sense.

Sorry for another epic review... they always end up being sort of stream of thought esque (especially ones like the other night when I wrote it at 1am) and apparently my thoughts ramble. Unfortunately that just tends to be an elongated form of the standard 'I like this, more please' (not that I, all writers I think, don't like getting those), but hey. I figure a little more description of what I like is better, even if I cant manage something constructive.

Thanks for the comments :-).

Although the 1st part of "Red Raider" is based on a series of 6 drabbles I wrote back in September, 2003 - This was actually the story that inspired the entire series and was initially written in Oct-Nov 2003.

Although there is some cumbersomeness (IMO) to the whole wizarding world secrecy thing as I've written it, I think it still holds together. But there are other writers who've done it better - though usually in much darker fics than mine.

As far as the slow relationship build - I actually try to do that in all of my stories. It isn't unique to this series. Of course, the reason it takes her a while depends on the story :-). But changing the canon sexuality of a character shouldn't be done suddenly or without adequate explanation/justification. IMHO of course. However, I don't have a problem with other writers doing that as long as they don't do it with a blunt hammer-like approach. :-)

Review:
hum... both willow ginny and ron hermione... wince. I will try to read it though, as i like your writing.
Comments from author:
Not sure I understand your comment. Willow isn't really in this particular story (other than as an observer.)

Yes, poor Hermione gets "stuck" with some Ron Weasley-relationship subtext. I think one unconventional/non-canon pairing (Buffy/Ginny) is enough for this story. Future stories in the series will have several other unconventional pairings but not anything earth shattering/surprising.

The story isn't really about them so we won't see much of anything with them together (for now anyway). Ginny is the main Harry Potter character in this story/series. Hermione and a few others appear occasionally but the story/series isn't set in teh wizarding world for the most part...

Thanks for the comments.

Review of chapter "Epilogue" from Odjn
Review:
Does this mean that you will be continuing this general story soon? (I mean the latest part of the Buffy-Ginny relationship?)
Comments from author:
Although I have begun working on it (and other incomplete stories in the series) again... thanks to real life time constraints I haven't completed any parts that I can post yet. It could be weeks or months. But not years.

nice. this is review of total story. best post-chosen version of Watcher's Council i've read.
loved the wary interaction of council, ministry, and coven. suppose this is all incidental to girl meets girl story, but is big incidental to me. grounds story in (its own) reality. have now read all you've posted with tth, and am now rereading the lot while waiting for more.

The plot was interesting in this chapter. I would have enjoyed a little more physical description or blow-by-blow description and action, but the snippets from the party were suitably mysterious.

Re: sequel

While I don't plan on abandoning them at this point, I don't currently have a sequel planned. I'll have to deal with what happens when Buffy finds out Ginny is in Cleveland and how she ended up there. I don't quite have that figured out as more than a scene or two yet. Certainly not enough to justify a whole sequel.

This is a wonderful story. I liked your characters, the plot, the logical way you combined the Buffyverse with the Potterverse, and how you also logically extrapolated the Buffyverse into the near future. I hope you do write more to this story as I feel there is more about these characters I would like to know. But I will look forward to anything you write. Thank you so much for the entertainment.

Wonderful. A very nice vague and open ending, with everything covered. I loved Kennedy. And I really like the relationships you described in the epilogue. I hope it all goes well for them. :-).
