Review of chapter "From London With Love" from SecondSilk
Review:
I like that it was Cordelia. She broke through the layers of enforced mystery around 'Anne' and Liam. I want to know what happened to Libby, too, well, what happened to her next. :-)
Comments from author:
I'm not *entirely* sure I understood this the same way you intended... but of course you want to know what happened to Libby next. ;) So did Willow, that's what the whole story was about!

Review of chapter "Turbulence" from Norwegianne
Review:
Aww, is that the end of Anne and Cordelia together for this time?

Interesting with the flights... I hope that won't happen when I'm flying to London in two days...
Comments from author:
Yes; in fact, there's only one more Cordelia scene (in chapter 16, where she gets back to Angel's office) and as for Anne... well, if you've worked out the mystery, you'll know when we'll be seeing her again.

Review of chapter "The Green Goddess" from JoyousTrouble
Review:
Yay more of 'Anne' and Cordy! Whoo hoo... Am keeping an eye on this.
Comments from author:
Well, savor it while it lasts; there's only another chapter and a half of Cordy, and only one scene of that is with 'Anne' as well... though if you've figured out the mystery, you'll know when you'll be seeing more of 'Anne'...

Review of chapter "Sewing Lessons" from Norwegianne
Review:
Interesting. Especially the part with the dryad's nails. I'm enjoying very much the interaction between Cordelia and Anne.
Comments from author:
:) Thank you. And yes, I'll get around to including that scene eventually - it'll just take delicate timing, since I don't have unlimited use of Miss Allen (she *does* have to go to school...)

Review of story "Lady Liberty II-01 - Sacred Honor" from Norwegianne
Review:
Miss Moneypenny - whose nametag read 'Brigid' - nodded. "Certainly..."

Oh, namedropping ;)
Comments from author:
Well, not really namedropping - it wasn't meant to refer to anyone in particular, just trying to come up with a semi-British-sounding, yet unusual, name.

Review:
"Me, nah... okay, yeah, I might have nicked a copy here and there. *sounds just like Spike.*

"Mostly 'cause Annie used to like to play with squirt guns, bout thirty years ago. Sometimes, she'd fill 'em with holy water."

A vamp with squirt gun of holy water... must be a good shot, and not drizzle something on herself...

;)
Comments from author:
Carefully, very carefully. Or she could have been wearing gloves....

Review:
;) Cordelia whistled. "That girl definitely looks good for her age, then. Course, I guess that'd be obvious, since you guys don't age. And what is it with that hideous Statue of Liberty headdress you had me wear?"

"Running joke. I've been teasing her about that statue since they put it up."

"She said it doesn't look like her... and it doesn't."

Angel laughed. "I know, that's not why it's funny."

One of the things I wouldn't have gotten had I not read most of the thing... ;) It's good ;)
Comments from author:
Well, hey, I had to get in a few jabs like that!

Review:
An excited ten-year-old behind Anya shrieked, pointing across the road. "Hey! It's Malfoy!"
"I'm not sodding Malfoy!" Spike answered, cutting into the line between Buffy and Willow. "Hey, Red. Got your message."

LOL... Really.

"If it's a Nokia, it will. Otherwise, no."
"Why just Nokia, and not any other brands?" Cordelia asked, her eyes narrowed in a questioning manner.
"It's a front for the Ministry of Magic in Finland." Lupin chuckled.
- Interesting, especially now that Nokia's stocks have moved down, because other cell-phones have taken over a lot of the marked.
Comments from author:
Yeah, another take on the Spike/Draco resemblance. :) As for Nokia... well, there's just a lot more companies in the business now, and I don't think the Ministry would especially care if they dominated the market, as long as they're a known brand name.

Review:
What happened to the car? Should it just be parked outside where anybody could see it?

*wonders*
Comments from author:
Well, Anne was just dropping Cordy off, not staying long.

On a basic level, though, Grimmauld Place is a public area, and a car being parked there would not be something that would immediately raise questions. Each of the neighbors may simply assume it's someone else's guest.

Of course, being an American model and bearing American plates, I suspect that Jeep raises eyebrows in London. Whether it's obvious why it's sitting there or not.

Review:
"When you call Angel, it turns into this whole 'why me' sob story, star-crossed lovers and all that. Angel and I have never been more than just friends." - Well, except for in fanfiction... and there was the line when she tried to get Buffy's attention... hmm...

"Angel. Back when we first met, I got used to calling him that, and I still do. It annoys the blazes out of him, you know. He's really the 'putting my past behind me' sort of vamp this century." Don't we know it...

Hey, she's called Anne. I know that name. I *answer* to that name...

But is it a coincidence that Buffy's middle name is Anne? Hmmm.
Comments from author:
Yes. Buffy is not the culprit here, of course, but she and Anne do have some connection. :)

Review:
Love the chapter title. My sister's a huge fan of The Clash.

I do love the dialogue.

"Well past dark? Your 'friend'... she's a vampire? Is that safe?"
"Yes, Cor. She doesn't like to eat American food... *snickers*

Who does... well except for the weird pancakes they seem to serve for breakfast.
Comments from author:
Pancakes for breakfast - yummy. But that line's also a clue to the ongoing mystery.

Review:
"I'm not calling Sunnydale. I'm calling Los Angeles. I know someone
there, skilled and experienced in finding rare magical texts, prophetic
writings, and the like. I've dealt with him before, and he can be
trusted beyond reproach with this. If the missing diary does, in fact,
exist... I want him looking for it."

"And what about not revealing any of this to a living soul?"

Giles just smirked

and then Anne came and snickered because it's really a beautiful way to end a chapter;) And good to have them pull one on Quentin Travers.
Comments from author:
Travers should really learn not to leave loopholes like that. But then, he's not the only one guilty of that in this situation. (Libby's letter to the Council - which you'll find in the end of the previous story - has a similar loophole, but it'll be a while before it comes to light.)

Review:
So amusing. Really. Wonderful how Lupin and Giles both recognize the lines, but can't remember from where. (Neither could I for that matter, and I read it last year for American Studies.) ;)
Comments from author:
Tee hee. Not to mention it was in the final chapter of Book One of the series!

Review:
Tension, suspence. Ow. Still, I like. I like Cordelia, and it's fun to see her with Molly. Is Hermione in the bookshop there, the Hermione in the bookshop that St Croix saw? I won't ask any more questions about what's going on. But I would like to ask you to out single inverted commas around thoughts, because the sudden change to first person can be disconcerting. And, while Molly is definitely everyone's mother and I like your characterisation, I am uncomfortable with her calling people 'dearie', 'dear', sure, but I'm not certain about the other.
Comments from author:
It's possible it was the same scene - we didn't see Hermione looking for those books, which was what St. Croix saw... but it's also possible this is a seperate trip.

As for the thoughts thing - that's because of the fact that TTH has issues with uploading in HTML. It adds all kinds of extra linebreaks to the code which end up making the text look horrible. Since I'm initially writing in HTML now, the choice was to upload in HTML and have it look horrible, copy and paste into text (which makes it lose the italics that I did use on my site), or do that and then go through and add markers (as you ask). Since I'm hoping TTH gets their HTML feature fixed...

Review:
Bravo! I loved it, and I can't wait to read more. Is Anne Liberty? I can't wait until you write more, I'll be waiting anxiously
Comments from author:
And what, precisely, would a colonial Massachusetts patriot be doing living in 21st-century London? Well, you'll just have to wait for the next few chapters - the mystery revolving around Anne is something that I don't plan to fully reveal until almost the end of this particular tale, and even then you may not get all the details until later in the series.

Anyhow... you shouldn't need to wait too long; the next two chapters (7 and 8) are already off to the betas. (Though Anne does not appear in either of them, we will be getting a tad more info on her, courtesy of one of her former companions.)
