I agree with you whole heartedly, the pairing has lots of potential. It's a shame not many writers think so.

Hi! Great little fic. Buffy seemed dead on. I'd love to see more of it.
BTW, do you realize that you've left the setting so other people can add chapters? If you don't mean to do that, I'd recommend that you change it, just in case. :-) Its a tricky little detail, I've done it myself.
