Normally, I wouldn't like one of these, but finding out that Oz dresses as 'God' from some TV show, it sounds more plausible.

Actually, Oz dresses as God for halloween in canon in BtVS season 4 - I just had him do it two years early. It isn't a crossover.

Interesting to see how dressing up in a specific costume two years early can have severe consequences.

I was kinda expecting Xander to dress up as Micky Mouse or something from the summary, but this works much better.

No. It's an "everyone turns into their costume" thing; in BtVS S4 Oz dressed as God for Halloween, the idea of this story is that he does it in S2 instead.
