Review of chapter "GATHERING OF THE COURT" from BuffyKaibaHunt
Review:
Very brilliant! :) I like it -- especially this part:

Hank was never the kind of man who believed in the supernatural. When Buffy was 14, she started having scary dreams about monsters and demons. Hank figured it was just a phase. When she started talking about seeing monsters at her school, he thought she was just acting out. He figured she was jealous of the attention he and Joyce were giving Dawn. When she started accusing classmates and teachers of being vampires, he began to worry about his daughter's mental health. He suggested, and Joyce agreed, that Buffy see a specialist. When she got caught fighting with a boy from her school that she said was a vampire, Hank went from being concerned to being scared. But when the boy disappeared, that was when Hank's worst fear came true. His daughter had lost her grip on reality. He and Joyce decided to have Buffy committed. This was the first time in his life he has ever questioned that decision.

Wow! I can imagine Hank asking himself why he and Joyce had committed Buffy to a mental institution, and also wondering if his daughter was right about vampires and monsters being real and about her being the Slayer.

Very brilliant and creative! :)

Review of chapter "REVELATIONS" from BuffyKaibaHunt
Review:
Brilliant! :) I like it -- especially this part:

The reality of his situation hit Hank like a freight train. Hank knew he was not going to win this trial, and once it was over, he was going to die. No one was going to vote for him to live. Hell, he wouldn’t vote for *himself* right now. He realized a few other things about himself.

Alcoholics talk about hitting their bottom. Criminals find God days before they are put to death for their crimes. For most of Hank’s life, he has never understood those things. At that moment, they made perfect sense.

Hank had what the alcoholics and the condemned criminals call a ‘Moment Of Clarity’. A Moment Of Clarity is a time in someone’s life when everything comes into focus and that person see things as they truly are for the first time. It happens to people who know they are going to die. For the first time in his life, Hank Summers saw what he truly was.

He was not a good father. He was never a good husband. He was not a good friend. He wasn’t even a good boyfriend. Hank realized he was a petty, self-absorbed fool. All he cared about was himself. His career; his relationships; his divorce; nothing else mattered to him.

Wow! Serves Hank right, in my opinion.
Very awesome chapter! :)

Review of chapter "THE VOTE" from WhiteWolf
Review:
It would be very strange for Buffy to vote for die. I don't think she could hate her father that much to vote for 'death', especially after her mother and sister had voted for life

Great story. Your's is a version of Hank Summers I've never seen before. But your whole story somehow strikes me as very possible and true to Joss' vision. Nicely done. It would be interesting to see if Hank really does change. Sometimes the Moment of Clarity wears off, but for Buffy's and Dawn's sake, I hope it doesn't.

Well, I knew Rick was a man of secrets, but Joyce's grandfather? That is just too fun! I love the running theme of the cigs at the end. This whole story was stunning. I didn't expect it to be so enjoyable especially since I have a 'Hank' in my life, but this was just grand. Very good work, you should be proud.

"The Tabula Rasa spell applied to every non-magical entity that entered the court."

But Buffy and Dawn are both magical. Does that mean that they will remember what happened when it's over?

Review:
I think the holes are growing in the Swiss cheese. This is a great concept using one of the most maligned characters in the Buffy canon. Chapter 3 did what I thought wasn't possible-actually made me feel bad for the louse. But now the holes of him "in Spain screwing his secretary", "he has a very important job" and having him upset that his "friend" screwed him only for him to do worse to his "best friend" is breaking up what was working. Add that all the time away from the initial prologue is slowly expanding the holes in the basic concept of a tribunal between life and death and someone/something with the power over both forces staying their hands to this degree is a bit much to begin with-why would it not have happened before if this were possible? All indications are it's rare to never for this scenario. Don't tell me Evil has never cheated or taken out someone unfairly before? I have been reading this story from the start with the idea that you have an endgame that you are working towards and that everything will be nicely sewn-up. But if that is the case I think your best bet is to hurry to that point before what was working so well gets drug down any further.

I can happily say that I greatly enjoyed this story. You have a very original plot which makes it even better.
And you used a character that is rarely used.
I rarely review but somehow I just had to for this story. Good work.

I really like this. It's not often we get to see a fic featuring Hank Summers and better yet one in which he has to answer for rather lackluster parenting skills. I can't wait to see where you go with this. Oh Rick Lansing aka Sonny's long lost half brother from General Hospital? Good choice if i do say so myself
