Review of chapter "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" from raxadian
Review:
Ah yes Neo, that reminds me of fics where Sunnyhell is a virtual reality videogame.
Comments from author:
Yeah, there have been a couple of them, but none of them were ever finished, as far as I know.

Review:
Cordy and Xander taking care of Faith, and helping her to work off extra energy? Why do I get images of a menage a tra going on with this group? But, the idea of these two being people out of the Matrix DOES have possibilities, especially with things like ADAM, Glory and The First to deal with.
Comments from author:
Yeah, that sort of thing would come to mind, doesn't it? ;-)

And this is a great opportunity for dealing with some upcoming problems in the next few years.

Review of chapter "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" from DieselDriver
Review:
I figured it would be a matrix crossover from the title but sure didn't anticipate the amount of residue from the spell. I would like to know who Tank was though.
Comments from author:
Yeah, there's almost always a lot of spillover from any Halloween story.

And Tank is the operator/pilot of the Nebuchadnezzar, and the brother of one of the other crew members.

The Class that went out with a BANG!

Quite true. I would have liked to carry an automatic weapon at my own graduation. ;-)

Review:
This was fun. Not sure how you kept the connection to tank and company, but I suspend disbelief because this is fun. Kudos for salvaging Faith.

Comments from author:
Glad you enjoyed the sotry.

You should read "Enter The..Hellmouth" next, because it's an expansion of this story and provides an explanation for why they retained the connection to their counterparts.

Thanks for reviewing.

Review:
Nicely done! You left room for a sequel, though.....
Comments from author:
I actually expanded this idea with my 'Enter... the Hellmouth' story.

Review of chapter "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" from Elgin
Review:
The fundamental idea behind this fanfic and the series that it subsequently spawned is quite intriguing and holds a lot of promise. The final scene of this 'fic offers a tantalising glimpse of where the series is likely to end up, and I for one am eagerly looking forward to reading further instalments in the series to show the route that will be taken to reach that point.

All in all, "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" provides sufficient foundations for the forthcoming series to make sense in addition to a glimpse of where the series will eventually end up, all in a nicely compact package. Quite frankly, it is most akin to a particularly good movie trailer, and was certainly very successful in capturing my interest. The action scenes were extremely in-keeping with the Matrix films and were well-executed, and your characterisation of Trinity and Neo was completely without flaw.

The only piece of constructive criticism I have to offer - and minor criticism at that - is that the final scene is perhaps a little bit overly-heavy on using the 'exposition through prose' method. However, I readily recognise and acknowledge that there simply was no practical means by which the same information could have been conveyed via the 'exposition through dialogue' or 'show, don't tell' methods (which I must confess are my preferred mediums of exposition) and still keep the 'fic this short. Furthermore, I would wager that by the time the "Sunnydale Reloaded" series reaches these events, most of the exposition won't be required for the final permutation of this particular scene, as the information in question (such as the existence and fine details of the nature of Cordelia, Faith and Xander's polyamorous triad-style relationship) will have been shown in full by then; I'm guessing that the final permutation of this scene will therefore most likely be a much smoother and sleeker piece of text.

This is a great start to a very promising series, and here's looking forward to the next chapter.

Best wishes and good luck with your future literary endeavours,

El :)
Comments from author:
I like the comparison to a movie trailer, since that's what this actually turned out to be. ;-)

I've got the next chapter about 60% finished and hope I can get it done in the relatively near future.

Thanks for reviewing.

Again, this was very funny. I love the idea of none of them realising it's Neo for a long time. Great story.
Comments from author:
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. It was definitely fun to write.

Review of chapter "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" from Sirius
Review:
Hi, grey,
As I should have mentioned on XanderZone (although at this point, I can't remember if I did), I am very fond of this fic. There aren't very many Xander-centric Matrix crossovers at all.

But, why is it in "Action-Other" under Movies when the Movies category has a sub-category for "The Matrix"?

Look for my story "Enter the Hellmouth" to expand on this. It'll explain why things happened the way they did.

Review of chapter "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" from CPTSkip
Review:
Lol! Oh, I liked your story. I hope you write more about this wonderful cross. I am a bit puzzled about Cordy's ability to contact the Nebakenzer (sp?). Is the Buffyverse just a cyber-creation inside the Matrix? I hope you write more as I found your story and characters to be fun and I want more. Please?
Comments from author:
As I indicated in another review, this was just a one-short in response to some discussion in another group. I am expanding the story, and I'll be posting it soon. It's called "Enter the Hellmouth" and it's the initial episode in my "Sunnydale Reloaded" series, and it will explain what happened to Xander and Cordy, and why.

Review of chapter "Good Thing I Didn't Take the Blue Pill" from (Moderator)JoeHundredaire
Review:
Not bad, but the entire year gap, which evidently includes Xander, Cordelia, AND Faith shacking up, is a rather jarring omission, especially since Angel is still alive, and I really can't bring myself to believe that Neo-Xander and Trinity-Cordelia would leave Angelus alive, regardless of Buffy's wishes.
Comments from author:
This was originally done some time back for another group and was intended as a one-shot short story. I'm currently expanding it into a series, and will be posting the revised story as the lead-in to the series. I've got pretty much everything plotted out through season four so far, and there are reasons for everything that happened in the story, as you’ll eventually see.

Anyway, thanks for the review.
