Review of chapter "Marked By Kane" from VillageOrchid
Review:
The spin-off of Charmed was an interesting touch. I just figured it was a reversed gender version of charmed crossed with touched by an Angel (because of the name Monica). Xander now has a soul and more memories than anyone should ever have... most of them of the darkest sort. That's a big dichotomy, and probably while the Powers went along with it (or couldn't stop it).
Comments from author:
The powers didn't really have much of a say when it came to people making choices of their own free will. That's one of the things they find so irritating about us humans. ;-)
And yes, Xander's got a bunch of memories he really wouldn't mind losing, but unfortunately for him, can't. ;-9

This is an awesome story! I just couldn't stop reading it until I realized that there were no more chapters. I hope you update soon. I loved reading it.

Thanks for reviewing and reminding me about this one. ;-)
I've got the next chapter partially written but it's been ignored by my muse for a very long time now. Maybe this will get her to look at it again. (Looks hopeful.)

Now that was a most interesting story, so far, and it fits with the image of Kane that Karl Edward Wagner's stories give the reader. Mind you, given how long those stories have been available, I'm a bit surprised no one had heard of them (on the other hand, the paperbacks did come out, if memory serves me correctly, in the 70's and 80's and thus might not be too available at the time of the story). I do hope you continue this as it looks like fun, both with a more cerebral Buffy and a much more potent and capable Exander.

Thanks for commenting and glad you enjoyed the story.
I have an idea for how to continue, but my muse hasn't been all that cooperative lately. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Glad you enjoyed it. I hope to continue this, too, if my muse will ever cooperate. ;-(

This is great, although I worry Xander might be too strong that has greatly lessened many other stories. It's to bad it seems to be abandoned. If one were to continue the story I would have Xander have lots of mystical and martial knowledge but not too much power, but the rest of the story would be very difficult to construct you would need to bring the brilliance of the de Medici to bear on the betrayal by Giles's group.
Comments from author:
It's not abandoned, it's on hiatus, since I do have an idea of where to go, but my muse isn't being very cooperative with regard to this story. ;-(
Glad you're enjoying the story.

So, "blazing cerulean fire", huh? Did Giles not notice Xander's new eye color, or has it just slipped his mind? May God have mercy on Giles and his companions if they decide to remove Buffy, because I don't think Xander knows the meaning of the word; not when it comes to 'his girls'.
Comments from author:
Well, all I can say at the moment is that, as I've tried to indicate in the story, Giles has considered Xander to be more of minor influence, almost a non-entity, up to this point. I can say that he'll have a opportunity to re-evaluate his thoughts in the future, though.
Thanks for reviewing and commenting.
