Review of chapter "Smell" from dulcinea
Review:
So I finally got around to reading these... I'm afraid I tend not to be a fan of drabbles, but I really like what you've done here. A lot of your introspective stuff is intriguing and I'd love to see some of them followed up on, but I think my absolute favorites were the humor pieces. The fruit sacrifices in particular had me laughing out loud. Blood oranges, tee hee!
Comments from author:
Thanks! I like the challenge of the missing scene, the sparsity in words to get the point across. I think Fruit Sacrifice measures as one of my favourite all-time peices of writing.

Review of chapter "Barrel of a gun" from CrystalOGrapher

These are sometimes fun, sometimes chilling. I prefer your longer works. Isn't it usually Anita's _eyes_ that go cold and distant?

Review of chapter "Rewind" from (Past Donor)houses
Review:
This is my favorite, I think, of the newest set. We see so little of Anita's father- her reminiscenes of her family are centered wholly around her mother, and Judith in the negative. We never hear of her dad, or even what his name is to my knowledge, but he must have had an effect on her. Maybe the effect was absence, allowing Anita to go her own way as he started a new family.

Gah, this gets to me.

It's hard to know what a parent must feel when a child turns out different than how they imagined, and in Anita's case, VERY different from everyone else on the planet. This works nicely with Manny's thoughts as well, how he started something he cannot control. But Manny is many layered, having sacrificed the white goat, been down that road before. It'll be interesting to see what comes of him in later books. If anything at all.

Again, lovely job on these. So happy to have my Mhalachai fix!

Review of chapter "Time" from (Past Donor)houses
Review:
Gah. I have no words. Gah. Damien facing the sun, his fears, his past. It's...gah. And I was very touched with Anita thinking of JC's death in the morning. That's love to me, the unwillingness to do with out. What great little sparkly nuggets to brighten my day. Whee!

Review of chapter "Temptation" from (Past Donor)houses
Review:
Oh, I loved the last four. The blood orange comment made me giggle, and hungry for one. I loved the last bit with Zebrowski. Very in character for them both, and a touching way for him to ask about her...extracurriculars.

Review of chapter "Temptation" from cellophane
Review:
Oddly enough, I love clever manipulation of religious symbolism even while despising organized religion. Apples have such wonderful baggage as a representation of temptation, while simultaneously being so ordinary/wholesome/American-as-apple-pie. This snippet was amazing.

Review of chapter "Brother" from (Past Donor)houses
Review:
Wow, that's all I can think to say. I just caught up with this now, and I have to say I'm very impressed. Each is a jewel of a moment, perfect in sparse prose. I particularly like your insight into Anita's mind, how she thinks and why. I loved the one with Edward and his 'son', how alike they really are. I'm not sure I can comment specifically on many others, but over all, they are excellent, perfect little nuggets.

Review of chapter "Crisis of Faith" from Zira
Review:
The one with Peter is kinda scary - I worry for those two kids! - but the rest are brilliant.
