It's nice to see that Rupert Giles
Traveling his life along the miles
needs to find some needed balance,
And can help Faith with her life's dance.

[Cute story, I really liked it. And totally the appropriate Incarnation for her.]

Review of chapter "The Incarnation of War" from TombCranktheCrafty
Review:
Absolutely lovely. It's been ages since I've read any of the Incarnations series, but from what I recall, you've nailed it perfectly. Congrats.
Comments from author:
It's been a while for me too - both since reading and writing this. I've had many interesting arguments with friends about the "best" Incarnations book. Everyone seems to agree that Book 1 - Death's book - is the strongest but after that...Unsurprisingly, I loved War's book. The "otherness" of him and how his culture and beliefs made him an unknown to all the other Incarnations - as well as their moral judgments of what he was doing...somehow that "outsider on the inside" position seemed similar to Faith and of all the Scoobies, she'd be the one to meet him.

Glad you enjoyed and thanks for taking a second to review! ~Ves

Review:
oooh.. I liked this alot... would love to see the result of that conversation... heck I think Faith would make a good incarnation of war... dang... you just set off a plot bunny.... Willow as Gaia, Faith as War, Xander as Chronos, Buffy/Dawn/Joyce as the Fates, and Giles as death... dang it.
Comments from author:
Hmmmm.....you get anything written on that yet? I would read!!

I just thought these two would understand each other quite well. Glad it worked for you! ~Ves

Ooh, particularly loved that last bit! Yeah, Ripper has a few things to account for. I don't suppose you have any fics with Zane or Parry in them, do you? "On a Pale Horse" and "For Love of Evil" were always my favorites of that series.
Comments from author:
On a Pale Horse is one of my favs too. I don't have anything written yet - but I had thought about writing another with Zane. Thanks for the kind words! ~Ves

Review of chapter "The Incarnation of War" from spacey
Review:
this was pretty good. was kenedy horrified by the slaying of the human ring-leader? what a priss. i'm sorry but whoever got the idea that killing humans is wrong into the heads of our characters really needs to be whacked in the head. like the frat boys in the episode today. the ones that worshiped a snake thing? if one of them, the leader guy that buffy was kinda crushing on, had to be killed for the human sacrifices to end... that would not have been wrong.

.... ramble much, heather?

anyway, faith--the one in this fic--reminds me a lot of wesley at the end of angel 4. smart and good and willing to do the right thing. but hard. and not as immature as the others.
Comments from author:
Faith and Wes end up in very similar places. Kennedy is a total priss but more importantly I think she has been completely brainwashed that killing humans is never okay. It's silly but it's canon. I am totally with you on the proper resolution of the whole frat boy episode - wages of evil and all. You conjured it; you get to be the snack. Make sense to me! Anyway, thanks so much for taking the time to review. It is much appreciated! ~Ves

Review of chapter "The Incarnation of War" from (Site Founder)Jinni
Review:
Well written. I didn't really get into the War portion of the Incarnations books, but do remember enough to think your characterization was well done. I enjoyed this glimpse into Faith's redemption process.
Comments from author:
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed Mym's tale and was touched by how alienated he was by the other Incarnations. They wanted to view war as something to be avoided at all costs, whereas he was driven to use it in ways that would end conflicts rather than escalate them and bring balance to the world. Faith, of all the Buffy gang, seems the most comfortable with doing things that might be considered morally wrong in the name of the greater good. Little Miss Buffy would not be thrilled with that. The only other character I see as being quite so balanced between the light and dark on an everyday basis is Giles, thus the little footnote. Thanks again! Reviews make happy authors, as you well know. ~Ves
