dark. maybe too dark. felt like murder. felt like she killed him out of guilt. felt, unfortunately like the kind of sick thing that people who fall in love with the wrong person find themselves justifying.

I don't like your logic. What about Angel? He's a vampire-sure, he has a soul, but that doesn't prove anything. You can still do evil with a soul.
Spike, on the other hand, fell in love with Buffy without a soul, he strives for her and he loves her despite the handicap of having no soul.
This was interesting-points on originality- but I don't think I like it much at all.
