Review:
Okay. The only other Dean I know of is Dean Winchester from Supernatural, and I can't see that Dean being all friendly towards a witch and her famillar as this Dean seems to be.
Comments from author:
This is one of those stories where it helps to have some knowledge of the fandom being crossed with Buffy. Otherwise there are a number of things that don't make sense.

Dean shows up very early in the first book in Tanya Huff's 'Keepers Chronicles' trilogy (so far). (Warning! The brief blurb about this series on Tanya Huff's wiki page has spoilers for the 2nd book in the series. Of course, this story also contains spoilers for all 3 books.)

And, strictly speaking, the only witch to appear, so far, in this story is Willow.

YES!!!

Keepers!!!

Please ma'am, may we have more????

and if Buffy thought ANYA got ... upset when other women made googly eyes on her Xander, she so does NOT want to mess with Claire! Will's good but I don't think she's up to taking on an enraged Keeper!
Comments from author:
Claire isn't going to make an appearance any time soon in this story so that won't be a problem :-)

But thanks for the idea :-). I hadn't thought of that.

I liked this story, I have heard of Tayna's "keeper" series but never got a chance to read them, perhaps I will now.

Review:
argh.

Want more!! Nice little fic, i especially like the atmosphere.

Edit: i see i am repeating myself, so i will also say i like there fact there is next to no moments that are too "violent" in their exaggeration, though some are a tad too languid.

nice beginning, though it does stretch believability, the B/W at that point in time.

i like it, though :-)

I've read the Keeper books, and choose not to keep them, so I'm am hoping I enjoy your cross over more than either of the original inspirations.

So far, so good.
Comments from author:
Thanks :-).

I actually prefer Tanya Huff's non-vampire books. This series and her "Confederation" series (Book 3 came out this June! Yeah!) being my favorites. The 'Keeper' series is really light-weight plot-wise (and not just because of the pop-culture references...) but I find it fun to read.

Delighted beyond words that you are picking up this story again. I hope that I do not have to wait for another update. I know nothing about the crossover in question so I have no comments on that. The Buffy Willow interaction is very well done, though Buffy is probably a bit more perceptive than shown in the show. I put it down to being away from the hellmouth, which reinforces the negatives.
Comments from author:
It was a conscious decision to have a more perceptive/competent Buffy :-). We had signs of that possibility at the end of Season 6 and into early season 7. It's too bad Season 7 fell apart before that idea got much traction.

I can't say when the next part will show up. I have two other fics to finish before Christmas and then this moves much closer to the top of my list. Hopefully in a couple months. Certainly sooner than 2 years. :-)

Review of chapter "Thicker than Dust" from (Recent Donor)DonSample
Review:
Nice to see my home town mentioned in a story, but Ottawa's airport ain't that big. Its parking garage isn't big enough to have a row W (or even a row M.)

(In fact, it didn't even have a parking garage until about a year ago, (it really is a small airport) so it wouldn't have one at the time of this story.)

With that bit of nit-picking out of the way, I'd like to say that this story is shaping up nicely.
Comments from author:
Okay...

I used to travel a lot so I'm familiar with US airports where all but the smallest seem to have concrete structures designed to separate passengers from their spare cash in exchange for an insecure place to store a vehicle. And while I normally try to be extremely accurate with such things... it just didn't work as well to have them wandering around outside.... though if I can think of a way to do it I might slip it in a later revision :-).

So, for now, let's just assume/pretend that the Ottawa airport in the Buffy-verse is a Hollywood version of a large Canadian city airport. With a parking garage big enough for the Toronto and Vancouver airports combined. :-). (I've always thought Ottawa was a large Canadian city... but that could be because I grew up just across the US/Canada border, getting my news from the CBC :-))

Thanks for the comments and corrections/info.

Review of chapter "The Pick-up" from CharlotteB
Review:
Great beginning. I'm not sure about the B/W shippiness (my personal thing--it's done very well, and you seem to be taking your time letting things develop, which is nice), but it's definitely a more likely pairing in a Tanya Huff novel than elsewhere. Any chance of some Miss Kitty Fantastico/Austin action?

Sorry about that last part. Too much coffee.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the comments.

Don't you think Austin is a bit old (He's 17 in the first book) for such things? :-). And then there was that whole Dawn/crossbow incident (Though we don't really know when that happened I'm assuming it was some time between Seasons 5 and 6 since we never saw Miss K.F. after the whole Glory incident.)

Review:
Outstanding beginning. I like your versions of both Buffy and Willow. I like a take charge Buffy and your's is a nifty one. Your Willow is obviously damaged, but I hope Buffy can help her heal. I really like the relationship between Buffy and Willow you are showing us. Yes, I am having trouble with the idea of a non-evil CoW, but I am willing to accept one impossibility in any story. Lol! I look forward to more of this story, whenever you get around to writing it.

Thanks for the comments.

I don't think the Council was ever really evil. Just misunderstood. :-) And they seemed to have really forgotten their original purpose, like a lot of Victorian clubs and bureaucracies.

They remind me of a line from one of my favorite mediocre movie remakes of an old tv show:

"No women. Not in Boodles. Not since 1762."
