oh my god... yes unfortunately the PTB are really that stupid... please tell me you'll be writing a sequel as soon as your time and muse allow it? That just leaves a scary cliffhanger image in my head.

But doesn't surprise me that the idiots who frak with your life can't see past their noses when they do a plan like this. This is something they would do... oh well.

Interesting story, crappy ending. I always do wonder how the PTB get away with what they do if there is any higher power they do answer to. I mean they go out of their way to 'restore balance' if the good guys seem like they are winning but do nothing but sit on the side lines and push people along if the bad guys are coming out ahead. Not to mention who comes up with the idea of what is balanced? You have thousands of vampires and demons if not more, two or three major demons all walking the earth at any one time and what do the good guys have? A slayer who's barely stronger then a vampire a few witches and an assortment of normal humans aware of the situation?

No high level divine powers are walking the earth helping people yet the bad guys constantly walk around actively helping things and yet the Powers that Be say balance needs to be restored in evils favor? I also felt that was a really lousy way to end such a long fic, incomplete and unfinished. Plus the whole 'emotional mushy stuff' was a bit sickening. Almost whole story spent either betraying Xander and making him feel bad, to instantly he has to forgive everyone or he's going evil. Every one else can hold a grudge but Xander has to be the good guy and forgive everyone for everything. Especially the apparent romantic pairing of Xander and Buffy in the end.. why? She's the slut who can't keep her legs closed and sleeps with the scum the earth while ignoring any good guy she comes across. Why couldn't Xander get a more worth while girl like Prue, Dawn or such? But instead their written out of the picture while Buffy is force fully shoved back in.

OH CRAP ON A STICK! The First is loose? Is there any chance you have a sequel in the works, or planned at all? I'm going hunting....

I wonder how Xander will react when he finds out that the reason The First has a corporeal body is because of The Powers That Be. All in the name of "balance". They're such fools it's not even funny.

I do have several ideas for the sequel, but I'm waiting until I have a good buffer of chapters before I post anything. I'm also wondering if I should cross it over with a few more shows; given the way things went near the end there, I should be able to do so without having to force the issue, and it would give me a bigger pool of characters to use.

Saw Methos' fan art - chapter 74 of his 'Fanart for my favorite stories' - and had to come read this. I probably would not have read it otherwise because I'm not a fan of Charmed fic (bad experiences) and only read one if I see a rec from someone whose opinion I trust.

Super Xander handled extremely well. Willow, Angel, and Wesley issues and twists were excellent. Methos' recommendation makes a point of how well balanced between fandoms this fic is, and I have to agree. The individual character voices are on and the give and take between the various characters - especially considering the triangle effect - is wonderful.

nice, very nice good ending . Poor whistler if it's not the Slayer tearing out his rib cage and wearing it for a hat. the first is ripping his head off. he just can't win. Can't wait for the next story It''d be great to see a Chirs Dawn pairing. maybe make Chris is assigned as Willows' and Tara's Whitelighter (because he's half human and able to goto the hellmouth and not much chance of either of them falling for him like piper did for his dad.) but Dawn get's a hugh crush right off then let it grow slowly from there. he see's how brave she is and start's falling for her but he's got to keep it a secert from the Elders otherwise it might be his mom and dad all over again. it's just a plot bunny use it or don't.
