Oh, this is lovely! Not everyone can write River well, and I love what you've done with her here. The whole concept of the names was handled really deftly. Very shiny. :)

I like this fic. And even though it ended in a proper place I still wish there was more to read. I didn't think I'd like this crossover but it's been interesting to see so many talented people make it work. Thanks for posting.
Having just watched the DVD set of Firefly, I can say this will full certainity - I love this story. You captured a part of River well. And Spike. oh how I {heart} him! And on a ship! Wait, what's he do about food? Anyway, great story, I'd love to see more of your writings with these two characters.

This was lovely. I just watched the first bit of Firefly the other day and went on a fic hunt, and happened upon this. Your description of River was amazing, the tangles of the way she thinks all moving in a coherent pattern. Her deciding that Spike needs a new name, and what she ended up naming him was quite touching.
Also nice was Simon's protectiveness of River.
It's funny, how Spike always ends up alone.

Absolutely wonderful. I love the crossover. And I love how River of all people was able to understand Spike. And it is horrible that he lived that long alone, but it is how vampires are. Very good. I loved River's chaotic thoughts and attempts to grasping reality. Good job :)
